Daytona Max is coming

Ever the innovators, Daytona Motorsport is adding a brand new fleet of super-quick karts to their line up. The new Daytona Max fleet is the first in the country with 2-stroke engines, electric start and centrifugal clutch. Boasting  50% more power and considerably less weight than the twin engine pro-karts everyone is familiar with, these vehicles are fast, nimble and a thrill to drive.

Powered by the water cooled, 125cc Rotax Max engine, the custom made Birel chassis from Italy is around 5 seconds a lap faster than the pro-karts. 

A four round Championship series is planned for 2008 for Endurance and Sprint formats with separate classes for heavyweight and lightweight drivers in the sprint races.  Endurance races for 2-4 drivers will consist of 40 minutes practice, 15 minutes of timed qualifying and a 2 hour race. The individual Sprint format will be practice, 3 heats and a grand final.

As well as the Championship series, there will be open endurance and sprint meetings available and there are some very special events planned for 2008. Keep checking the website for more details as they are released.

There is also the opportunity to hire the karts for exclusive races. We can offer excellent rates for corporate parties but only experienced drivers will be allowed to drive these powerful machines. Novice drivers will have to prove their ability on the pro-kart fleet before graduating to the Daytona Max karts.

The first chance to get your hands on the Daytona Max fleet will be Friday 22nd August in an open arrive and drive day. Sessions will be 30 minutes and prices are as follows:

30 minutes: £65

60 minutes: £110

60 minutes with tuition and coaching: £175

The Daytona Max Championship series will start in September. Membership for the year is £35 and the prices are as follows:

Team Endurance: £375

Individual Sprint: £150

Prices include full race gear rental but bring your own if you have it.
