OPEN KARTING RACES

Daytona Lydd : Open RacesOur Open races at Daytona Lydd International are scheduled events that allow individual racers and small groups of all abilities to compete against other individuals, groups or teams.

These exciting events offer a number of formats ranging from knockout heats tournaments to races lasting several hours. You can choose between Grand Prix heats, individual sprint racing or ‘Le Mans’ style endurance racing. Whichever you decide to enter, you are sure of a great day of healthy competition and adrenalin-pumping action.

SCHEDULE OF OPEN EVENTS

Daytona Cup - An exciting, fast paced 30 minute sprint race, with 5 minutes of practice and qualifying, for intermediate drivers. Trophies are awarded to the top three drivers

DAYTONA 40 - A challenging, semi endurance race for the more experienced racer. 10 minutes of practice and qualifying, with 40 minutes of action packed racing. Trophies for the top three drivers.

DAYTONA 60 – The ultimate individual endurance race. For the experienced racer. 10 minutes of practice and qualifying, with 60 minutes of focused, close, competitive racing. Trophies for the top three drivers

DAYTONA 90 team –  A 90 minute team endurance event. All teams receive 20 minutes practice qualifying session, followed by a 90 minute endurance race, with a pre-determined number of driver changes. Up to 30 teams race to complete the most laps in 90 minutes. Teams of 2 - 4 drivers.

 

Grand Prix Open
The Daytona Open Grand Prix consists of practice session a series of sprint races, semi-final for the top 30 drivers and a grand final for the top 15 drivers.

Open Race Availability
Open Races availability changes weekly and as sessions must be pre-booked, check availability and book online or contact Daytona Lydd for further information.

Arrive and drive practice.
If you have a limited amount of time but want to make the most of your visit then simply try out the karts in either 15, 30 or 60-minute open timed practice sessions. Our skilled staff are on hand to provide pointers and will happily give you guidance to get the most out of the kart.  Please call 0845 644 5501 to book your place.

Track Safety.
Safety is paramount at Daytona Lydd, and drivers are required to attend the driver safety briefing. There is a strict NO CONTACT policy with our karts as well as within the racing industry.

Racing incidents are expected and we adhere to the professional approach that is needed to safely marshal the track. Therefore, it is only after repeated warnings that the black flag is used, resulting in the individual being asked to leave the circuit.

If mechanical failure is due to excessive kerbing, contact or bad driving, it will be at our discretion whether you will receive a replacement kart or be able to continue racing for the remainder of your time.
