SuperChamps - Daytona Milton Keynes

The SuperChamps 2025 season one Round two took place on a cold but dry day, with the heats format consisting of a ten-minute practice session, followed by two ten-minute heats and a fifteen-minute final. The track layout was the highly anticipated Linkback / Cliffdrop variant.

SODI

The practice session saw SODI’s hit the track, and the top times were set by Harrison Line in the Lightweights and David Line in the Heavyweights, a great start for the Line family.

Heat one kicked off with Lewis Bowey starting from pole position, Brandon Edwards in second, and Harrison Line in third. The race was packed with intense battles across the grid, but Edwards emerged victorious in the Lightweight category, taking the first win of the day. Bowey secured second, while Line held onto third, with the competitive field ensuring that few drivers strayed far from their starting positions. In the Heavyweight category, it David Line claimed the win, followed by Freddie Jenkins in second and Abbie Boyd in third.

Heat two saw twins Jacob and Charlie Csepreghi occupy the front row, with Kyle McMillan starting in third. Throughout the race, the two brothers swapped positions multiple times, but it was Charlie who came out on top, taking the win followed by Jacob in second. Tom Justice finished third in the Lightweight category. In the Heavyweight race, Freddie Jenkins secured another win, with Sailesh Shah in second and David Line rounding out the top three.

Charlie Csepreghi began in pole for the final race, with his brother Jacob alongside in second and Liam Weatherall close behind in third. Freddie Jenkins led the charge from seventh overall in the Heavyweights, followed by David Line just behind and Sailesh Shah starting alongside Abbie Boyd further down the grid.

The final was a thrilling contest, Thomas Langford took the lead after a bumper-to-bumper battle with the Csepreghi twins, while Charlie finished in second and Jacob in third. In the Heavyweight race, Freddie Jenkins led the way in P6 overall, mixing in with the Lightweights, while David Line claimed second and Sailesh Shah took third, completing the Heavyweight podium.

Jacob Csepreghi took the fastest lap award for the Lightweights and Freddie Jenkins took the Heavyweight fastest lap.

DMAX

James King topped the practice session, setting the fastest time, while his brother Ashley Mayston-King, was the quickest in the Heavyweight category.

The first heat saw Tom Duffy start from pole position overall, with King in second and Harry Asher in third. Ewan Reeves lined up as the third Lightweight driver on the grid. In the Heavyweight field, Myles Bate and Mayston-King took second and third place on the grid respectively.

After ten minutes of intense racing, King took the overall win, followed by Luka Nik and Karlis Elmanis. In the Heavyweight race, it was Bate who came out on top, with Duffy in second and Mayston-King in third.

Heat two saw previous SODI Champion Barry Morris start from pole, with Mayston-King in second and Bate in third. Elmanis and Samuel Spencer secured the next two spots in the Lightweight class, with Duffy further down the grid completing the top three in the Heavyweight category.

Morris displayed a master class in defence, holding onto first place until the chequered flag, while Elmanis finished second and King in third. Mayston-King secured top points, with Bate and Duffy finishing second and third.

The final grid was led by King, with Spencer and Elmanis in second and third. In the Heavyweight race, Mayston-King lined up ahead of Duffy and Bate.

The final itself was an unforgettable display from King, who stormed to a remarkable six-second lead by the halfway point. Elmanis, Spencer, Luka Nik, Morris and Asher all battled fiercely for the remaining podium spots, but none could catch the flying King. Meanwhile, the Heavyweight race saw Mayston-King take the victory, with Duffy and Bate fiercely contesting second and third.

King's dominance overall was clear, as he crossed the line an astonishing 14.4 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Spencer claimed second, with Elmanis rounding out the podium in third.

Both King brothers claimed the fastest laps in their respective categories. It was a day of impressive performances across the board.

Jamie Chadwick Series - Daytona Sandown Park

The Jamie Chadwick Series returned to Daytona Sandown Park for its first round in 2025 with an extended scope. Six championships are up for grabs this year, and all were superbly represented at the first round. On an icy cold but relatively dry day, the scene could not be better for the first round of racing.

Cadets

The Cadet race was won with relative ease by Lily Catignon, who managed to build herself a healthy advantage that stretched to as much as five seconds throughout the race. Her main competition was the speedy Freya Lally, who had periods during the race where she caught up to Catignon but ultimately was not able to do so consistently enough to mount a challenge. They were joined on the podium by Amelia Alice-Barreau, who did a wonderful job holding off Alicia Waterhouse.

Juniors

Throughout the early stages of the race, Daisy Bradstock seemed to be dominating in the Junior class however, she was eventually caught by Milena Clark and Sandown Park InKart regular Sarah Telford. This battle came to a head when Bradstock got it wrong at turn five, spinning round and taking herself out of contention despite her remarkable pace. She was still able to secure an impressive third, but had left the door open wide open for the race win. Speaking of this battle, Telford had to fight hard to try and get past Clark but was ultimately unsuccessful. With that being said, Clark had received a one-place position penalty for a ‘Bump and Pass’ earlier in the race, giving Telford the win. Clark’s great defending (only finishing two tenths ahead on track) was enough to secure her second place, once penalties had been applied.

SODI Lightweights

Sandown Park InKart graduate Zoe Cattet managed to win the first race of the day in the SODI Lightweight category. She did a wonderful job holding off Holly Garratt, who like in the Cadet race, was faster than the race winner at times. With over twenty-five karts on the circuit, it was a busy track and difficult to string consistent laps together but both drivers managed to do so very well. They were joined in the top three by Chloe Clarke, who also had the pace to win but ultimately could not quite make a push in the late stages.

In the final race, which was set by the finishing position in the first race, Zoe Cattet completed the round sweep.  It was a brilliant drive from a driver who has put in a lot of hours practicing around Sandown Park, making use of Daytona tuitions to perfect the track. She was joined in the top three by Nicole Robinson and Holly Garrett. It was incredible for Robinson, who just squeezed onto the podium thanks to her fastest lap point. However, post-race drama would ensue, and Robinson was disqualified for being underweight – a tough lesson for the young lady – promoting Katherine Hardwick to third place.

As for the points totals, Cattet took the round win, with Garratt’s double podium enough for her to take the second spot. As previously mentioned, Robinson was tied with Katherine Hardwick for third place before receiving a penalty.

SODI Intermediates

Returning driver Chloe McNally won the first race in the new ‘Inters’ class in the SODIs. She was right up there in the overall positions and was relatively unchallenged throughout the first fifteen minutes. She found her best challenge with Ami Peacock, who finished second – and Emily Mehmet in third. Peacock was quick throughout the day that she took the fastest lap point, so it would not be straightforward for McNally into the second race.

Speaking of the second race, McNally was able to hold off the challenge from a charging Peacock, to take the full round win as well. Amelia Charlesworth grabbed top three, after much battling with the drivers from about fifth to eighth. This was a particularly important result for Charlesworth as it meant that she might have just been able to get onto the final step of the round podium, though it would be an anxious wait whilst the points were worked out.

The wait was worth it for Charlesworth, who ended up getting two points ahead of Mehmet to finish on the final step of the podium. The top two was self-explanatory, as McNally took 100 points from the round and Ami Peacock stood on the second step, just five points behind.

DMAX Lightweights

A thoroughly entertaining battle to watch throughout the day was Hope Wood and Julia Stankowiak, who could not be separated in either of our two races. The first race was won by Wood, who fended off Stankowiak’s late challenges thanks to some great defending, particularly in the second half of the track. They were joined in the top three by Emma Rabbage, who had to fend off attacks from Grace-Lee Davis to secure that finish.

The second race came right down to the wire, as it was a repeat of the first race between Wood and Stankowiak.  This time, Stankowiak was in the lead and defending hard, right up until the final lap. Wood found herself getting a run, and went for a dive at the final corner, but made slightly too much contact and was penalised for the move – giving Stankowiak the win. This meant that the driver that stands on the top step was going to be decided by the fastest lap point. As for third, this was secured once again by Rabbage, in a solid debut in the 2-stroke class.

The fastest lap went to Hope Wood, and she was just about able to take victory for the round, with Stankowiak in second. Emma Rabbage’s consistency throughout the day meant that she secured the third-place spot.

DMAX Intermediates

Frankie Yates and Kristine Kolodziejski were the two competitors in the DMAX Interweights throughout the day. The first race was not in Kolodziejski’s favour, as the usually consistent Daytona Tamworth champion struggled in slightly icy conditions at her least familiar track.  Yates took victory in the first race, and all would come down to the second race for who would take round victory.

Kolodziejski wasn’t kept at bay for long, as she found her stride in the second race and started battling with the very top of the Lightweight field. This victory meant that she tied on points with Yates and took fastest lap.

It was a fantastic start to the Jamie Chadwick Series season, and we look forward to welcoming all drivers at Daytona Tamworth next month for the second round – and expect to see a few new faces to add to the mix!

Thursday Night League - Daytona Sandown Park

As both championship fights start to materialise, Thursday Night League drivers at Sandown Park took on the alternate layout for the first time in the 2025 season.

SODI

Vivek Bhalla edged ahead of Alfie Pettengell in a tight qualifying session, taking pole by just three tenths of a second. Matthew West took Heavyweight pole, and Connor Elmore joined him on the second row of the grid, being just eight tenths of a second behind the leaders. Heavyweight championship leader Carlos Roberts had his work cut out for him after starting in sixth place.

Heading into the race, Bhalla found himself battling with Pettengell in the early stages, initially losing the lead. He fought to reclaim it on the seventh lap of the race, managing to build a three and a half second gap from there to the checkered flag. Fin Ions was the last driver in the Lightweight top three, though not quite catching the top two – he had an excellent drive through the rest of the field to finish on a successful number of points.  As for the Heavyweights, Roberts and West had a wonderful scrap for the lead, with Roberts managing to take his second victory in as many weeks ahead of West, by just about a second and a half.

DMAX

After narrowly missing out on victory last time out, Charlie Foster narrowly took pole position in the third round of the season – less than a tenth of a second ahead of Ellis McKenzie. Antonio Sholin was only one thousandth behind McKenzie on the second row, meaning that our top three had less than a tenth between themselves. In the Heavyweights, Robert Guymer took pole by less than a tenth himself ahead of William Tidnam.

It took a while into the race for the race win to be confirmed with Antonio Sholin, Archie Bullard, and Charlie Foster all in the hunt towards the finish. In the end, Sholin took victory on circuit by five tenths of a second but was relegated to the final step of the podium due to an advantage by contact that he made on Charlie Foster near the end of the race. This meant that Bullard took the win on his return, ahead of Foster – who took the championship lead by a single point. As for the Heavyweights, William Tidnam had a good drive through the field to take victory – climbing into ninth overall on his way to the win.

We return to the Grand Prix layout in two weeks’ time at Daytona Sandown Park for the fourth round of Thursday Night League.

Thursday Night League - Daytona Milton Keynes

The Thursday Night League at Milton Keynes saw some intense action on a mostly dry track with a few wet turns, adding a bit of challenge to the proceedings. The layout, featuring the Cliff Drop/Bus Stop, provided plenty of opportunities for drivers to test their skills.

SODI

Jacob Csepreghi secured pole position, with Charlie Csepreghi lining up second, and Adam Pughe rounding out the top three. Among the Heavies, David Rollins took the lead, followed by Ash Chivers.

The race kicked off with Charlie Csepreghi quickly snatching pole position, not giving his brother Jacob much room to fight back. Jacob battled hard to try and retake the lead, but Charlie’s pace was unrelenting. In the Heavyweight category, Ash Chivers made an early move to take the lead, and despite a fierce effort from David Rollins to reclaim first place, Chivers held his ground and kept the lead throughout.

In the Lightweight category, Charlie Csepreghi took the victory in first, with Jacob Csepreghi in second and Johnny Frankham securing third. For the Heavyweights, Ash Chivers crossed the line in first, followed by Michael Bowles in second and David Rollins finishing in third.

It was a thrilling evening of racing with tight battles for positions across the board, especially with the wet conditions making for some nerve-wracking moments.

DMAX

During the DMAX Lightweights qualifying, James King took pole position, followed by Nathan Boyle securing second place, and Julia Stankowiak rounding out the top three.

From the start, James King showed impressive consistency, holding onto his pole position throughout the race. Nathan Boyle and Julia Stankowiak closely pursued him, engaging in a fierce battle for the podium spots, but neither were able to overtake King or make any significant gains. The three front-runners maintained their positions, each pushing hard in the wet sections, but the overall positions remained unchanged throughout the race.

Niklas Stieper, started further down the grid for the DMAX Heavyweights, displaying remarkable composure and skill, while maintaining a solid pace despite the tricky conditions. He fought off the pressure from behind, managing to hold his ground.

In the end, James King took the win, with Nathan Boyle securing second. Julia Stankowiak rounded out the top three in third.

Thursday Night League - Daytona Tamworth

Round three of Thursday Night League at Daytona Tamworth greeted our drivers with yet another damp track, as is often the way with winter racing in the UK. Despite this, the grids were the largest we’ve seen so far this year, including a sold-out DMAX field, with returning drivers from last season making their debut and new participants as well.

N35-ST

Lightweight championship leader Jude Lillyman secured yet another pole position, ahead of newcomer Sam Chilton, who was impressively less than half a second off the polesitter, with the leading Heavyweight Brandon Gathercole in P3 overall. Heading into the race, Lillyman battled with another debutant Charlie Walmsley-Ryde, the two drivers’ nose-to-tail for nearly the entire race.

Despite Lillyman being somewhat off-the-pace compared to those around him, the damp conditions proved tricky to overtake. Last season’s N35-ST vice champion was just able to hold on, winning by just a couple of tenths ahead of Walmsley-Ryde, and making it three wins out of three rounds so far this season. In fact, the top two were never too far ahead of those behind, with Chilton catching up towards the end. The top three were covered by less than a second in one of the closest TNL races in recent memory. Nevertheless, with this performance. In the Heavyweights, Anthony Delaney made it back-to-back wins, ahead of regulars Gathercole and Brent Deeley.

DMAX-GT

It seemed that pole and victory in N35-ST wasn’t enough for Lillyman, who immediately proceeded to storm to pole in the DMAX-GT. N35-ST Heavyweight winner Delaney was in P2, with endurance regular Mark Whitbread in a very solid P3 overall for his first round of TNL this season. He was clocking the exact same lap as Nihal Joye in P4 while Whitbread’s endurance teammate Mark Rollinson and reigning DMAX-GT vice-champion Tom Duffy, were P5 and P6 overall, P2 and P3 in Heavyweights.

In the end, it all seemed simple for Lillyman, who led from the front and won the race by a solid five seconds. The absence of reigning champion Ben Foden opened the door for a new DMAX-GT TNL winner, as well as a near-perfect round for Lillyman, who took two poles and two wins. Whitbread sat comfortably in P2, with newcomer Kyle Storor in P3, taking the fastest lap. In the Heavyweights, Duffy made it three wins from three this season, with Luke Mallard, who’s made the switch to Heavyweights for the rest of this season, now sitting in a solid P2, with debutant Tom Cossar an impressive P3 in class.
