Daytona Motorsport are looking for an experienced Engineer/Mechanic to join the team at Daytona Sandown Park. We have a vacancy for a Dmax Engineer who will be primarily responsible for race preparation of our Dmax fleet of karts. We are looking for:

  • A motivated, experienced team player
  • flexibility, good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ideally some experience with karts, two stroke engines and in particular Rotax 125cc engine experience would be a bonus
  • Must have own tools

The successful candidate will be based at Daytona Sandown Park reporting directly to the Head of Engineering.

Daytona Sandown Park is currently looking for professional, confident, enthusiastic and reliable team members to join our fun and busy Track team.
The successful applicant will have the ability to maintain a high standard of performance and safety for our customers and colleagues.


  • Race Direct (manage, monitor and run) race events with the ability to deliver an entertaining and safe experience for our customers
  • Act as a Duty Manager of the venue whilst managing the Track team, Front of House team and customers in a professional and effective manner whilst on duty
  • Confidently conduct safety briefings to customers prior to race events
  • Demonstrate strict but fair race management from Race Control (training will be given)
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure that events are executed at the highest level
  • Be fully conversant with the company’s computer booking and timing systems
  • Be fully conversant of the Track Training Manual, NKA (National Karting Association) guidelines and Employee Handbook
  • Assist with the induction and training of newly appointed Track staff whilst maintaining continued development for the existing team in accordance with the Company and Statute requirements


  • Have excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form
  • Successfully execute the role by setting high standards and leading by example at all times whilst demonstrating the ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Issuing the correct flags to drivers whilst they are racing on circuit
  • Relaying information carefully and correctly back to the Race Director

Daytona is a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment that requires energetic, enthusiastic and ambitious individuals with the ability to thrive under pressure. The successful applicant will be smart in appearance and possess a naturally professional personality.

Staff are required to be flexible with occasionally long weekend hours.  You are required to have effective verbal and written communication skills.

Experience within a customer facing role is advantageous, but is not essential for the ‘right candidate’ as full training on products and services will be provided.

Duties of the role include:

  • Meet & greet customers promptly upon arrival.
  • Provide friendly and first class customer service
  • Sign in drivers to their scheduled events, issuing race uniform and assisting with any other requirements
  • Manage phone, email and face-to-face enquiries effectively
  • Upsell and cross-sell events and merchandise to ensure that sales and individual targets are met
  • Ensure all Front of House and customer facing areas are maintained and well presented at all times
  • Adequate stock levels must be maintained at Front of House including assisting with stock take/rotation
  • Ensure all race suits are maintained and ready for race events
  • Provide administrative support to the venue management team
