Daytona Motorsport announced today (22nd Oct 2015) that The Daytona 25 Hours 2016 is fully booked.
Launched last week, our annual event was increased from the usual 24 Hours to 25 Hours as part of Daytona′s 25th Birthday celebrations. Entries flooded in as soon as we confirmed the event details and the event is now sold out.
The race, which takes place over the weekend of 30th April and 1st May 2016, will feature 20 teams racing in Daytona′s high performance Dmax two stroke karts and 20 teams racing in our Sodi RT8 3980cc karts. The Dmax karts will race to a minimum weight limit (equivalent to driver minimum weight 87.5kgs) whereas the Sodi class entries do not have a minimum weight limit.
The race features a lot of leading drivers from Daytona′s TW Steel Dmax Championship, as well as a number of fast kart racers from other championships and promises to be the best yet. Teams are already working on adpating their 24 Hour strategies to allow for the extra hour′s racing.
