Celebrating Grassroots Success
Daytona Motorsport enjoyed a standout evening at the Clapham North Motorsport Awards 2026, taking home top honours in the grassroots categories and celebrating the success of drivers and championships at the heart of UK motorsport’s talent pipeline.
The Jamie Chadwick Series was named Grassroots Series of the Year, recognising its continued impact as a competitive and accessible championship for aspiring professional drivers. Now firmly established as a key stepping stone on the motorsport ladder, the series has built a reputation for pioneering women’s motorsport, from first stepping into a racing kart to winning titles and moving into cars and beyond. This early step in a young driver’s career is absolutely essential in building a sound foundation in race craft.
That pathway was perfectly illustrated on the night by Hope Wood, who was crowned Zach Anderton Grassroots Racer of the Year following a standout 2025 season in the Jamie Chadwick Series DMAX Lights category. Her performances throughout the year marked her out as one of the most exciting emerging talents in British motorsport, with the award serving as fitting recognition of both her on-track achievements and wider commitment to the community itself. Hope’s journey is exactly what the Jamie Chadwick Series was created to support. After claiming victory last season, she is now progressing into the next level of competitive motorsport under the guidance of series founder Jamie Chadwick, demonstrating how the championship can act as a genuine launchpad for drivers with ambitions of building a career in motorsport.
Looking ahead, the Jamie Chadwick Series returns for its third season on the 22nd February 2026, with grids once again set to feature the next generation of drivers aiming to make their mark, some familiar faces joining us along the way for the odd round and several exclusive prizes and trips planned. With updated regulations and constant kart upgrades, the championship continues to play a vital role in grassroots racing across the UK.
The evening also highlighted the wider community spirit within motorsport. Daytona Motorsport was proud to celebrate alongside Clapham North, who continue to support the HALOW Project, who work to support young adults with learning disabilities in Surrey. Clapham North’s sponsorship helps make HALOW’s annual event at Daytona Sandown Park possible, a fixture that has become a meaningful and much-loved part of the Daytona calendar.
With championship success, individual achievement and community impact all recognised in one night, the Clapham North Motorsport Awards served as a reminder of what grassroots motorsport is all about - opportunity, progression and passion, on and off the track.
