DMAX National Championship Round 2 – Race Report & Standings

DMAX National Championships – Round 2 Recap | Daytona Tamworth

Milton Keynes Contingent Take the Spoils in an Action-Packed Round Two!

Saturday’s Round 2 of the DMAX National Championships brought sunshine, adrenaline, and unforgettable racing to Daytona Tamworth, with the Milton Keynes squad sweeping all three classes in the morning’s Endurance race - a rare and impressive feat.

Morning Endurance (60-Minute Race – All Classes Combined)

LIGHTS:

A tense cat-and-mouse battle unfolded between James King and Julia Stankowiak. King led from pole and controlled most of the race, but Julia’s relentless pressure paid off. With 15 minutes to go, she seized the lead and expertly defended to clinch a dramatic maiden win.

Daniel Varlan held off Nihal Joye and Ben Leslie in a three-way scrap for P3—his consistency ultimately earning him the final podium spot.

INTERS:

Kuba Wozniak returned to the top with a commanding win. After briefly surrendering the lead to Anthony Wypych, he struck back and pulled away by 17 seconds. Wypych, meanwhile, fought off a charging Justin Elliott in a thrilling finale.

HEAVIES:

Ashley Mayston-King delivered a masterclass - his dominance saw him cross the line not only ahead of his own class but in front of many lighter drivers. He finished over 30 seconds clear of Alex Pritchard, who was handed a track limits penalty.

Afternoon Heats (3x 8-minute Heats + 12-minute Final)

LIGHTS:

It was a homecoming triumph for Andrew McWilliam, who dominated from start to finish. Despite missing Round 1, his performance turned heads.

Jamie Tiley-Gooden finished P2 after pulling off the move of the day—a bold last-lap lunge in Heat 3. With consistent podiums in both rounds, he now leads the championship heading into the final round at his home circuit, Daytona Milton Keynes.

Dom Balasaitis took third on the day and remains in title contention. Meanwhile, The Faceless Driver had a quieter round, finishing seventh but holding second in the standings.

INTERS:

Anthony Wypych backed up his endurance podium with a win in the Heats final, despite Ross Sandwell starting from pole. A dramatic clash between Sandwell and Alfie Shrubb dropped both down the order. Justin Elliott took second place after a brilliant last-lap move on Brad Philpot.

HEAVIES:

It was war between Mayston-King and Pritchard in the afternoon finale. The pair traded positions (and paint), with Henry Lopes-Gracey keeping the pressure on throughout. Pritchard crossed the line first, but a post-race penalty handed Mayston-King his second trophy of the day - and a significant lead in the championship.
