Endurance Racing to Save Lives
On Friday 20th June, Daytona Sandown Park hosted a thrilling two-hour team endurance race in support of the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance, proudly raising £10,000 for a cause close to our hearts.
It was truly a day to remember, with new and old friends making their way to our Surrey venue for an afternoon of top quality racing, speeches and an auction with prizes ranging from racing tuition from a formula champion to a Sandown Park race day and concert.
With the sun shining, a chopper flyover, and special guests including Luciano Bacheta and Wade Eastwood, a strong pedigree of racing talent graced the paddock and it was time to get behind the wheel...
Teams included Eastwood Action featuring a strong lineup with Bacheta, Eastwood, Daytona alumna Kristine Kolodziejski and out very own CEO Charles Graham. As well as formidable drivers from Team Reklaw, Lucky Strike and two separate wildcard teams made up of supporters brought together by the Daytona Team. KSS even fielded a team, with volunteers and medical staff in attendance.
Ultimately after two hours of racing which would have given our top champions a run for their money, it was Team Reklaw who came out on top and took the coveted P1.
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our drivers, supporters, and spectators, we successfully raised £10,000 for KSS, funds that will directly support their vital 24/7 emergency response service. Operating every day of the year, KSS crews can reach any incident in Kent, Surrey, or Sussex within just 30 minutes. Their speed, skill, and commitment have been the difference between life and death for countless people.
If you couldn’t attend the race but would still like to help, it’s not too late. Visit @airambulancekss on Instagram or head to the KSS website to learn how you can contribute. Your support ensures the team can continue their extraordinary work - saving lives when it matters most.
Thank you to everyone who raced, donated, and cheered. Together, we made a difference.
