FINAL STANDINGS
R9 PHOTOGRAPHY
As expected from a December race-day, we were treated to low and dark clouds throughout the event for the finale of the Jamie Chadwick Series – slowly but surely dispensing large quantities of water onto the Daytona Milton Keynes circuit. They say that rain is the great equaliser, leaving it up to the drivers to decide how brave they dare to be. With plenty of thrills and spills in treacherous conditions throughout the day of racing, the talent on show at the finale of Season 2 of the Jamie Chadwick Series was truly inspiring. Previous graduates of the Series have gone on to test and race in Series such as GB4 and Ginetta, and it is safe to say that the grid of 2025 has a bright future ahead of them as well. John Ratcliff and Antonia Rankin were in the Commentary box to give the soundtrack to the finale of the 2025 season, with Jamie Chadwick in attendance to interact with drivers and witness the talented grid of drivers battling on-track with her own eyes.
CADETS & JUNIORS
For the final time this season, the Cadets and Juniors shared the track. Once their Qualifying session came to an end, the pole-time in Juniors was less than 3 tenths of a second faster than the pole-time in Cadets!
Championship leader Lily Catignon started as she meant to go on, never looking in doubt to take pole position – which she did by over three quarters of a second to her nearest rival in the Cadets, Jess Kirby. When the lights went green for the last race of the year for the Cadets and Juniors, Lily Catignon made a perfect getaway – quickly building up a comfortable gap at the sharp end of the field and looking to quietly but confidently wrap up this year’s JCS Cadet title.
But with conditions changing lap-by-lap, Catignon had an issue near the mid-point of the 25-minute race – dropping down to P4, and that was where she stayed until the chequered flag. After early battles between Jess Kirby, Freya Lally and Alicia Waterhouse, it was Kirby who was victorious, setting herself up to be in prime position to steal the last race win of the season when Catignon hit problems, as Lally and Waterhouse followed her through and joined her on the podium.
Despite a late charge from Lally, seeing her popping in purple sectors like they were going out of fashion – she could only close the gap to Kirby to 1.5 seconds before the chequered flag flashed up on the gantry to signal the end of the race. Even with the drop to P4 in the final race of the year, the points Catignon secured were enough to give her the Championship – ending up just seven points clear of Jess Kirby once all was said and done, making Lily Catignon the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series Cadet Champion.
Jess Kirby will hold her head up high – it’s been a remarkable year for her after finishing P2 in Tamworth’s InKart earlier on this year.
Whilst Catignon was focused on the Championship fight in Cadets, there was a stand-out performance in Juniors. Milena Clark knew that she had a chance to grab the title from the jaws of defeat here at the finale, after an off-colour round for Sarah Telford at Round 8 at Daytona Tamworth brought Milena Clark back into play. With the goal in-sight, Clark proceeded to dominate proceedings – pipping Daisy Bradstock to pole position by just over one tenth of the second in Qualifying. But when the green flag flew in racing conditions, Clark put her foot down and never looked back – taking maximum points (including the extra point for fastest lap) and winning with a gap of 11.5 seconds to P2. Telford qualified on the second row, but dropped a position on the first lap – leaving her with work to do across the next 25-minutes of racing action. She battled with Cora Moore and Megan Gascoyne, eventually getting passed and ending the race in P3, dramatically clinching her the Championship victory on tiebreak count-back. The points from Round 9 meant that Milena Clark and Sarah Telford both finished on the season on 405 points, with Telford sealing the top spot for herself due to her three round wins across the year versus Clark’s two. Sadly for Clark, it was close but no cigar, but what a battle these two young ladies gave us right up to the bitter end – making Sarah Telford the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series Junior champion!
4-STROKE
Zoe Cattet, take a bow! Cattet decided she would spice up her 2025 finale, making it just a little bit more challenging for herself. After racing in the 4-strokes all season she decided she would also take on the challenge of the DMAX for Round 9, meaning she took part in back-to-back sessions throughout the day, jumping between two wildly different karts for over an hour and twenty minutes straight. And not only that, she was competitive in both – with Cattet taking pole in the SODI Lights by just under one second to Katherine Hardwick.
Cattet would then win Race 1 by over eight seconds and follow that up with a win in Race 2 by over 18 seconds, capping off a brilliant Championship victory by 86 points ahead of Chloe Smith – crowning Zoe Cattet as the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series SODI Lights Champion! Simply sublime from Zoe Cattet, she has truly cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with within the Jamie Chadwick Series and a name to watch out for within national and international motorsport in the coming years.
Whilst Cattet led from the front, it was also brilliant to see so many drivers making the jump up from the Juniors into the Adult SODI classes this season. Milena Clark, Daisy Bradstock, Sarah Telford, Cora Moore, Tilly Watson and Tara Herm all competed in both classes, racing very well and showing that they aren’t scared to rustle a few feathers and get stuck in battling with drivers who have far more experience than them – with a possible nod to next season.
Beate Grinspone was the early favourite in the SODI Inters with her pace straight out of the box, but she had to settle for P2 on the grid after her time was bettered by Reyhaneh Abdolrazagh late-on in the session. Amelia Charlesworth would miss out on a front row start by 4 hundredths of a second, but her start in Race 1 was monumental. She scythed through to the lead and pressed on into the distance – finding pace where no one else seemed to be able to. But one mistake in these tricky conditions can change everything, and a brief lapse in judgement saw Charlesworth collide with the barriers at Turn 4. She re-joined the race in P4, but would immediately receive a one-lap penalty for using her hands and feet to free herself from the barriers, which is of course against the regulations. This ensured that no matter what happened thereafter, she would not be able to rise any higher than P7 – with Chloe McNally taking the victory in Race 1.
But in Race 2, Charlesworth would make up for this mistake; cutting her way through the order to stop McNally from doing the double at the season finale. The two Championship protagonists really put on a show for us to end out what has been an incredibly exciting season in the SODI Inters, but McNally had just enough of a lead to not be too worried – ending the year with a 46-point advantage and crowning Chloe McNally as the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series SODI Inters Champion!
DMAX
It was a battle of the titans in DMAX Lights, as Hope Wood and Julia Stankowiak have been inseparable through the season. When one wins, the other finishes right behind her, and when the other wins, you can guess where her Championship rival is.
Wood had the advantage going into Round 9, but neither of the drivers would get pole position – both having to settle with being alongside each other on the second row. In her first Jamie Chadwick Series event, Imogen Owen was able to take pole position with a fastest lap over a second faster than any other driver in her class! Having said that, Emma Rabbage put on a performance to behold, overtaking Owen on the first lap and never looking back – earning her first race win of 2025, with soon-to-be SODI Lights Champion Zoe Cattet getting a podium to her name in the DMAX. But it was Stankowiak who stole the fastest lap bonus point, finishing in between Rabbage and Cattet with her rival Wood down in P4.
In Race 2, Stankowiak was determined to sign off with a bang, battling through to the lead early on, setting the fastest lap, and winning the race by over 13 seconds. But, in a similar vein to this year’s Formula 1 Runner-Up Max Verstappen, it was out of her hands, as her Championship rival Wood finished right behind her in P2 – allowing Wood to hold onto the Championship by just four points. This crowned Hope Wood as the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series DMAX Lights Champion. Stankowiak must be kicking herself for missing Round 5, with such fine margins ultimately costing Stankowiak the title.
And last, but certainly not least, the DMAX Inters. This Championship had already been decided prior to Round 9 thanks to a dominant season from Frankie Yates. She still showed her face on Sunday, looking to finalise the Championship with another commanding day out-front – and she did exactly that, taking pole by 1.3 seconds and being victorious in both races to extend her final Championship winning gap – despite a spin on the last lap in Race 1 to keep us on our toes. I think she was just adding a bit of extra excitement to final day of the season. This finalised the season results, making Frankie Yates the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series DMAX Inters Champion!
In all the competitive sessions throughout the day, it was popular Polish/British driver Kristine Koloziejski ahead of Sarah Gualtieri. It was great to have Koloziejski back on the grid, a known face from Season 1 of the Jamie Chadwick Series who has since gone on to test in GB4, F4 and Ginettas. But she nearly had a rather large blunder late-on in the day. As the drivers rounded the final corner to begin Race 2, Koloziejski was not amongst the pack – she was instead seen running down the pit-lane towards her kart. This mistake in time-management meant that she left the pit-lane nearly 30-seconds behind the rest of the drivers in her class, but her pace allowed her to catch and pass Gualtieri before the chequered flag to re-take the P2 she should’ve started the race in.
Well then, that is a wrap on the 2025 Jamie Chadwick Series season – and it has been a blast! We want to give a massive thank you to all of the drivers who competed throughout the season, whether that was you simply showing your face at one singular round or sinking your teeth into all nine of them across the year; we hope you’ve learnt lots, always gone back home with a smile on your face, and met plenty of new friends along the way. The talent on show throughout this year within the Jamie Chadwick Series has been nothing short of breath-taking, with many drivers destined for greatness. We hope to see you all again next year for Season 3, with yet another 9-round season to continue searching for the next female motorsport prodigy.
