17:32 - Two from Two!
Wypych wins his second final in this championship! He's now in control. Also a great result for Justin Elliott, finishing in second. Brad Philpot rounds off the podium.
Alex Pritchard also manages to hold off a late Ashley Mayston King resurgence for the win.

17:31 - Brilliant from Elliott!
Justin Elliott makes a move on Bradley Philpot and takes second. The last lap board is up...
17:29 - Good move from Henry Lopes Gracey
Alex Pritchard is leading in the Heavies.
Henry Lopes Gracey makes a move on Ashley Mayston King and passes him at turn one.
Mayston King quickly reclaims his position.
Meanwhile, Kuba Wozniak has had to retire from the race with a kart failure. He quickly jumps in another one and gets back out there.
17:25 - Race Restart
We're back, baby!
The karts form a train behind the safety kart under full course yellows.
Anthony Wypych is at the front, with Bradley Philpot behind him and Kuba Wozniak third. Justin Elliott is fourth.
17:17 - Kart swap
Alfie Shrubb and Ross Sandwell walk back towards the paddock and look like they're getting ready to get in another kart. We've been paused for over ten minutes now - but it looks like we're getting back underway.
17:16 - You can't park there mate!

17:08 - Red Flags
There's a coming together between two karts at the outside of turn two.
The drivers are both saying they're okay. Our team are continuing safety checks and this race will restart in due course.
Before that incident there was a brilliant manoeuvre at turn one which saw Ross Sandwell lose his P2, with Brad Philpot capitalising as they went four wide into the straight.
17:06 - This looks better...
Wypych is being a pest, testing Sandwell at every corner in these early stages. He's hungry for the race win that will see him in control of this championship.
Justin Elliott is right behind the duo.
17:03 - The Final Final
Inters starting grid:

Heavies:
- Alex Pritchard
- Ashley Mayston-King
- Henry Lopes-Gracey
16:55 - Round Winner

16:49 - An Uneventful Final
It's fair to say this race has been much less frantic than the last two heats we just witnessed.
Andrew McWilliam is cruising towards victory, Jamie Tiely-Gooden is comfortable in second and Balasaitis is having a battle with Joseph Simcock for third as they approach the last lap.
Charlie Foster has made some distance up ahead of James King and looks safe for p5.
16:49 - Squabbling
Charlie Foster is all over James King, allowing Julia Stankowiak to get back in the mix, the trio battling for P5.
Jamie Tiley-Gooden is gaining on Andrew McWilliam for the lead - both drivers throwing down consecutive fastest laps.
16:47 - Consistency
Not much changing at the top of the field, they're all putting in consistent times lap after lap.
The Faceless Driver and Julia Stankowiak exchange blows.
Lots of track limits warnings flying around as drivers push the limits.
16:43 - McWilliam in control
Andrew McWilliam has great pace at the front of the field.
Jamie Tiley-Gooden is just ahead of Dom Balasaitis, battling for second place.
Faceless Driver gets a five second penalty for contact. That's him out of the race.

16:40 - Final Grid Order
We start with the Lightweights -
- Andrew McWilliam
- Jamie tiley-Gooden
- Joseph Simcock
- Faceless Driver
- Dom Balasaitis
- Charlie Foster
- James King

- Max Murray
16:37 - 12 minute finals coming up
It now all comes down to the final races, with 50 points up for grabs for the winners.
We'll share the final grid orders shortly.
16:31 - Brilliant defending from Pritchard
They were exchanging P1 and p2 all race long, but Alex Pritchard gets in front of Ashley Mayston-King and defends excellently on the final corner to win the heat. The two drivers high five as they acknowledge another epic battle between the two of them. Henry Lopes-Gracey didn't finish far behind in the end, after struggling to keep up with the pace in the earlier portion of the race.
16:29 - Wypych in the lead
Anthoyn Wypych is now winning this race with less than a minute to go. Kuba's right behind him with one lap to go.
Meanwhile, Bradley Philpot is putting pressure on Justin Elliott for P4. Alfie Shrubb is fairly comfortable in p3.
16:27 - Mayston-King vs Pritchard
Another duo who have been at it all day - Alex Pritchard is really pushing Ashley Mayston-King - he then makes a move and gets in front of him - only to lose his lead on the inside of the turn 11 hairpin.
16:25 - Brilliant from Wypych
Anthony Wypych takes P2 with a clever move on Alfie Shrubb.
He's now gaining on Kuba, thinking about making his next move. These two have been at it all day.
16:23 - 2 minutes in
Kuba is half a second ahead of Alfie Shrubb, with Anthony Wypych in hot pursuit.
They're pulling away from fourth-placed Justin Elliott.
16:20 - Final Heat
Our final heat of the day is back over to the Inters/ Heavies, and we've got Kuba Wozniak and Alfie Shrubb leading the line for the Inters, and Ashley Mayston-King and Henry Lopes-Gracey leading in the Heavies. This one will be starting in a jiffy.
16:09 - Epic finale
Faceless Driver was clear in the end, as everybody battled behind him he managed to make up ground.
Dom Balasaitis crossed the line in second place, but received a 5 second ABC penalty, relegating him down the field.
Andrew McWilliam was promoted to second, and Charlie Foster finished third ahead of Jamie Tiley-Gooden.
Less than two-tenths covered third through to sixth there - they were four wide over the line. Phew.

16:07 - A really exciting heat
This one's an awesome watch. Faceless Driver is still in the lead. Charlie Foster is sticking close to him, but has Andrew McWilliam and Jamie Tiley-Gooden watching his every move.
16:05 - Dive bomb overtake
In a mirror of their previous heat Charlie Foster and the Faceless Driver do battle at the front after Foster takes the lead with a dive bomb move that brought audible ooh's from our spectators.
16:03 - Shake up
The field is getting shaken up as our drivers will be beginning to feel the sweet summer heat. Charlie Foster must have solar panels on his helmet as he rockets through the field to take second and stake a claim to P1.
16:01 - faceless fun
We kick off the third heats in the Lights with the Faceless Driver leading the field. A clear message to ashamed commentator Pat Horrocks.
15:52 - sun sun sun here it comes
Sunshine returns to Daytona Tamworth and begins to dry out the track. Race control begins to feel oppressive with the heat but our love of karting and the possibility of a rainbow makes it all worthwhile.
15:45 - Race finish
The Inters/Heats race concludes as follows:
Heavies - P1 Alex Prichard, P2 Ashley Mayston-King, P3 Henry Lopes-Gracey
Inters - P1 Ross Sandwell, P2 Anthony Wypych, P3 Bradley Philpot
15:43 - 1 min to go, changes being made
Tamworth local, Anthony Wypych is climbing the field as we enter the last lap.
15:42 - Ross, Go ross go!
Ross Sandwell passes Bradley Philpot in a beautiful move sneaking by on the side.
15:40 - Track Limits
Ross Sandwell, Sonny Zacharias and Henry Lopes-Gracey all recieve track limits penalties as the drama ramps up in this race.
15:39 - Zoom
The field is getting shaken up at every turn as our drivers pace around the track like scaletrix cars.
15:37- Off to the races
Brad Philpot Leads, Sonny Zacharias in P2 and Justin Elliott in P3 as we begin with a thunderous start.
15:36- Inter/Heavy Heats 2
Here we go, drivers are on track under single file yellows as onlookers wait with baited breath for another eventful heats battle in the Inter/Heavy division.
15:22 - What a finish
McWilliam takes the lead over Balasaitis on the penultimate lap, and then has to defend for the entirety of the final lap.
On the final corner, the two drivers run eachother wide, and Jamie-Tiley Gooden comes out of nowhere on the inside, taking the victory at the final breath.
15:20 - Close at the front
Balasaitis, McWilliam and Tiley-Gooden are matching eachother for pace, as the gap between them and Simcock increases.
There's 0.5 seconds between the top three.
Charlie Foster overtakes Julia Stankowiak for fifth position.
15:17 - 3 minutes in
Andrew McWilliam has inertia and finds himself in second place and Jamie Tiley-Gooden is up to third. The pair started in the middle of the grid.
Julia Stankowiak drops to fifth, a position behind Joseph Simcock - although Simcock just received a track limits penalty.
15:14 - Great start
Andrew McWilliam and Jamie Tiley-Gooden both get off to an excellent start and make up a few spaces straight away.
Dom Balasaitis gets in front of Julia Stankowiak.
15:09 - Second Lightweight Heat
Julia Stankowiak starts Heat Two on pole, however is heading into the pits to change her kart. A bit of a delayed start to this one.
Julia leads the line alongside Joe Milburn, withDom Balasaitis and Charlie Foster behind.
15:01- Finishing positions
Ross Sandwell P1
Anthony Wypych P2
Kuba Wozniak P3
Alfie Shrubb P4
Justin Elliott P5
Ashley Mayston-King P1
Alex Pritchard P2
Henry Lopes Gracey P3
15:00 - One minute remaining
Ross Sandwell is in control, pulling away from Anthony Wypych and Kuba Wozniak chasing him down.
Wypych and Wozniak exchange places, but Wypych manages to reclaim and hold second position.
Mayston-King has made ground up from Alex Pritchard and looks set to win.

14:58 - Ashley vs Alex
Ashley Mayston-King is defending well against Alex Pritchard up behind him. Henry Lopes Gracey isn't far behind either.
14:50 - Inters/Heavies Heat One
Bradley Philpot spins right at the beginning of the race, dropping behind the Heavyweights at the foot of the grid.
Anthony Wypych started on pole, but Ross Sandwell quickly overtakes him. Kuba Wozniak senses second place is for the taking, as he tails Wypych.

14:44 - Light Heat One Finishes
After a great first heat for the Lightweights we have seen mixed conditions with a dry start and wet conclusion. Some really strong driving has been on display here, with dramatic overtakes from the likes of Stankowiak and Foster as well as weather related blunders seen across the track.
Polesitter Andrew McWilliam won that by four seconds ahead of Dom Balasaitis. Local lad Joseph Simock finished in third, James King fourth and Jamie Tiley-Gooden fifth.
14:42 - Early Battles
The Faceless Driver and Charlie Foster trade places early in the race, going back and forth while using every inch of track available to them.
14:40 - Strong Start
We have rain on track, this will really shake things up as the wet weather specialists come into their own and climb places on the field where otherwise strong drivers who may be less acquainted with the intricacies of wet weather driving will drop.
14:37 - Penalty
In the first laps of the race we see a penalty being placed on Jamie Tiley-Gooden. Currently on circuit in third place, this has drastically effected his positioning in the standings for the race, dropping him to ninth.
14:34 - First 8 minute Heat
We're underway with our first Lightweight heat and Andrew McWilliam is storming into the lead.
Julia Stankowiak span out on the first lap and ended up last, but has recovered nicely and regained two places.

14:30 - Group Two - Inters/ Heavies
Hot favourites Kuba Wozniak & Antony Wypych are fresh from their earlier battle and will dual again in the Heats. Wypych won Round One in dramatic fashion.
Ross Sandwell finished in third place last time round, finishing 0.4 seconds behind Wypych in the final race on the day. He’s one to watch.
Bradley Philpot finished R1 in fourth place – he’s a professional racing driver and driving tuition coach – and his racing accolades are numerous.
Sonny Zacharias is competing again despite retiring from the earlier endurance race.
Alfie Shrubb had a solid day at his home track in Round One, but it will be a little more challenging this time round on a track he has less experience in.
Justin Elliott had a day to forget in round one – however he’s vastly experienced on this circuit and showed good form this morning.
Inter Kieran Hyde-Moody & Heayvweight Henry Lopes-Gracey are both rapid Daytona Sandown Park regulars, and Alex Pritchard is the reigning Heayvweight champion. Ashley Mayston-King and Pritchard do battle again after the former got the better of the latter this morning - Pritchard will be hungry for revenge!
13:55 - A preview of Group One - the Lightweight Heats category
The heats racing we witnessed at Daytona Sandown Park was breathtaking at times.
There was an epic dual between the Faceless Driver and Jack O’Neill – with the latter absent today – in the Lights, with Jamie Tiley-Gooden finishing in third place on the day.
Tiley-Gooden is in a strong position to lead the championship, and a win today would make him the hot favourite looking ahead to the final round at his home track at Daytona Milton Keynes in September.
There are plenty of drivers who he knows all about – his long-time rival Dom Balasaitis, for one, who pipped him to the post to win the Daytona Race of Champions title earlier this year. Charlie Foster is another rapidly-improving driver, fresh from a Thursday Night League title at Daytona Sandown Park last week. These three drivers are super familiar with each others ability on this circuit – having competed here at the Elite Karting Series last year - where Tiley-Gooden came out on top.
Having said that, Julia Stankowiak tasted victory in that same championship at this circuit this season – and she's just won the Endurance class this morning. Her confidence will be running high.
Andrew McWilliam is going to be a serious threat in this category. He worked at Daytona Tamworth for a number of years – and used to test DMAX on this circuit. Having said that – he will have never driven a Birel DMAX around this circuit until today.
Another local driver who is going to be a threat is Joseph Simcock. He’s currently leading the way in the local DMAX SuperChamps championship, having won four out of the five rounds he’s competed in.
Thomas Williams has tasted victory many times at Daytona Sandown Park, but admittedly Daytona Tamworth is the track he’s raced at the fewest times – he’ll need a big performance today.
Max Murray, Jonah Norris and Joe Milburn are more young drivers hoping to make a name for themselves here today.

13:35 - Round 2 Endurance Winners

13:30 - Stankowiak takes gold
She fist pumps as she crosses the line in first place. What a huge victory for the young lady.
Wozniak wins in the Inters, Mayston-King in the Heavies.
13:25 - She's going to do it
Stankowiak has pulled away from King, she's nearly got a second on him now. With two minutes to go, it looks like she's going to win it!
Justin Elliott hasn't found a way past Anthony Wypych yet but he's all over him like a rash.
13:23 -The final push
With five minutes remaining, the main talking points are the battle for P1 between Julia Stankowiak and James King, with the former in the lead and the latter tailing her every move.
The other key battle is in the Inters, between Anthony Wypych in second place, and Justin Elliott just behind him.
13:20 - Breathing room for Varlan
Daniel Varlan has built a 3 second lead over Nihal Joye now. We've got a Daytona Milton Keynes 1-2-3 in this race so far.
Plus Kuba Wozniak is leading in the Inters, and Ashley Mayston-King in the Heavies.
Utter dominance from the MK contingent.
13:14 - This afternoon's competitors
The Heats contestants are in the building.

13:13 - She's done it!
Julia's made her move and is now leading the race with 14 minutes to go. It's now James King's turn to play stalker. This is going to be an epic finish...
13:09 - Cruising Kuba
Kuba Wozniak is flying. He's now 15 seconds ahead of Anthony Wypych. Justin Elliott has caught right up to Wypych and will fancy a his chances for second here with just under 20 minutes remaining.
12:57 - Varlan moves up to third
Varlan is now third in the Lights, having made his move on Nihal Joye. Ben Leslie is just behind the duo in fifth. He has a 3 second lead over sixth placed Will Kenny.
Meanwhile, Kuba Wozniak has built a four second lead over Wypych. Justin Elliott is eight seconds behind Wypych in third.

12:54 - Breathing room for Mayston-King
Ashley Mayston King is looking rather lonely out there now, he's pulled well clear of his rivals.

12:52 - Finding Joye at Daytona Tamworth
Nihal Joye just makes a move on Ben Leslie and takes third place.
12:47 - Pushing too hard
A further two track limits penalties have been issued - third placed Ben Leslie and 14th placed Sonny Zacharias.
12:45 - Penalty for Pritchard
Heavyweight driver Alex Pritchard has just received a penalty for track limits.
12:41 – A six kart train
Third-placed Ben Leslie leads a long train, Nihal Joye is behind him.
Anthony Wypych makes a move, overtaking two karts, and finds himself leading in the Inters, fifth place overall.
12:39 – This one is shaping up nicely
We've got two epic battles for the lead already. James King has had Julia Stankowiak right behind him for the entirety of the race, and Kuba Wozniak is stuck to Anthony Wypych's rear bumper turn after turn, lap after lap.
12:37 – Punching below his weight
Heavyweight Ashley Mayston King just overtakes the Inters driver in front of him, allowing him to build a one second lead on Alex Pritchard on his tail.
Alex Tucker has fallen way behind.
12:32 – Cracking the wypych
Anthony Wypych is leading the Inters, but Kuba Wozniak is breathing down his neck, shadowing his every move and looking for a way past. Justin Elliott is about four second behind them.
Meanwhile, Julia gets really close to James King going through the start gantry and nearly makes his move.

1230 – Julia goes racing
Julia Stankowiak is tailing James King, looking for a way through. Those two have pulled slightly ahead of the pack behind.
Ben Leslie is third, with Nihal Joye just behind, battling turn after turn.

12:25 – And we're off
It's action time! We've got an hour of racing now, as James King leads the pack.

12:12 – Starting grids
Has it just started raining?

11:53 – Half way through
After five laps, it's the Milton Keynes contingent who are setting the pace - Julia Stankowiak, James King, Kuba Wozniak and Daniel Varlan are the fastest four on track.
11:45 – Vroom vroom
And they're off! DMAX engines purr into action and smoke fills the paddock as we get under way.
And just like that... Justin Elliott's chain has come off, and he stalls on the starting line. Full Course Yellows straight away so no fast laps as yet.
11:37 – Formalities
Our competitors have just completed their safety briefing, drawn their karts, and are heading to the pitlane ahead of qualifying, which commences at 11:45.

11:31 – Feeling hot, hot hot
Stay hydrated out there, folks.

11:15 – Testing testing 1-2-3
A handful of drivers took advantage of testing this morning. Charlie Foster recorded the fastest lap during that - 54.852 - he's super familiar with these karts, having raced them for the last few years at Daytona Sandown Park.
He's opted for a classic Daytona racing suit today.
His fancy one must be in the wash...

10:05 – KBR in the building
These two will be hoping to add a DMAX Championship title to their growing list of accolades. They could both lead the championship with a win in their respective classes today.

09:45 – A preview of the endurance category
At Round One in Sandown, we saw a statement of intent from the old guard - Jack O’Neill stormed to Lightweight victory, Owen Jenman snatched the Inters win in a final-corner thriller, and Ashley Mayston-King crushed the Heavies field with an 18-second margin over Alex Pritchard.
But today?
O’Neill and Jenman are absent - attending a wedding - which means two things:
- We're guaranteed new winners in the Lightweights and Inters.
- Neither O’Neill nor Jenman can win the championship.
And that opens the door.
In the Lightweights, James King, who finished second at Sandown, has his eyes on the top step. Victory here would put him top of the standings. But watch for Daniel Varlan — King beat him by just 0.2s last time out. If Varlan wins today, he could head into the final round leading the championship — and on his home track.
Also in the mix:
- Julia Stankowiak – a Jamie Chadwick Series frontrunner with strong Tamworth form.
- Nikolay Angelov – a DMAX original with deep experience.
Four newcomers spice up the grid:
- Nihal Joye – podium regular at Tamworth.
- Ben Leslie – a returning name from the original series.
- Max & Ralph Frohnsdorff – young unknowns, potential wildcards.
Over in the Inters, we’ve got a fascinating generational battle.
Anthony Wypych – just 17 – almost won Round One, losing out only on the final corner. He’s back on home soil and hungry to finish the job.
Standing in his way:
- Kuba Wozniak – One of the fastest young drivers in the Daytona community.
- Justin Elliott – a multiple champion at Daytona Tamworth.
- Olly Cooper-Welton – a wily veteran, though less familiar with this circuit.
- Seb Cook – a DMAX original with heaps of know-how.
- Sonny Zacharias – not to be overlooked, with plenty of strong performances under his belt here.
And finally, the Heavyweights. A straight-up slugfest between three heavy-hitters:
- Ashley Mayston-King – Round One winner and fresh off a Daytona 24 Hours triumph with KBR.
- Alex Pritchard – former DMAX champ, relentless and consistent.
- Alex Tucker – SuperChamps title-holder with the pace to match anyone.
Three weight classes. Eighteen karts. 30 degree heat. One hour of high-stakes racing.
Strap in — this one’s going to be brutal.
09:20 – A brand new challenge
We’ve done our best to level the playing field and remove home advantage as best we can.
This will be the first time anybody has driven a Birel DMAX around this circuit – a unique challenge for all racers.
Our engineers have been tuning these karts this week to prepare them for the unique challenges this circuit presents – especially the notorious turn 11 hairpin.

09:00 – Welcome to Round 2
Good morning, race fans – whether you're trackside at Daytona Tamworth or following the action from home, welcome to Round 2 of the 2025 DMAX National Championships.
After a thrilling return at Sandown Park, the championship momentum rolls into the Midlands – and the stakes are rising. Today promises a full-throttle mix of high-speed endurance and all-out heat racing featuring the very best drivers from across the DMAX community.
Here’s how the day looks:
- 10:30 – Optional kart testing session for drivers to fine-tune their setups.
- 11:30 – 10-minute qualifying for the Endurance race.
