Jamie Chadwick Series - Round Three

Daytona Milton Keynes

JUNIORS

Sarah Telford was in superb form during qualifying, taking pole position by two tenths of a second ahead of Milena Clark, with Megan Gascoyne a further second behind in third.

In the race, Telford delivered a dominant performance, pulling away from the field and crossing the line nearly seven seconds clear. Laila Fitzgerald initially finished second on the road but was handed a post-race penalty that dropped her to third. Clark was the main beneficiary, moving up to second and adding more valuable points to her campaign.

CADETS

Championship leader Lily Catignon continued her strong qualifying form, taking pole ahead of Jess Kirby, with Phoebe Shelton close behind in third.

Catignon showed her mettle on track, maintaining a strong position at the front while battling against backmarkers and Freya Lally throughout. The final lap was the most intensely fought, with Catignon spinning out due to a racing incident. She made a testament to herself by rejoining the race and securing P3, despite circumstances beyond her control. Lally took advantage of the fray and charged through to take P1, just three tenths ahead of Kirby, who finished in P2.

SODI LIGHTWEIGHTS

Zoe Cattet extended her incredible form in qualifying with yet another pole position, clocking a lap time over a second clear of Katherine Hardwick in second, while Fitzgerald slotted into third a further four tenths back.

Cattet remained unstoppable in Race One, notching up her fifth win in a row. Hardwick stayed within touching distance early on but was held up by lapped traffic, ultimately finishing three seconds adrift. Fitzgerald completed the podium in third.

Race Two finally saw Cattet's winning streak broken as Fitzgerald fought back brilliantly in the final laps to take her first victory of the season. Cattet finished just behind in second, with Hardwick once again rounding out the podium in third.

SODI INTERS

Chloe McNally continued her charge in the Inters category, taking pole position ahead of Reyhaneh Abdolrazagh, with Amelia Charlesworth in third.

McNally converted that into a hard-fought win in Race One, holding off Abdolrazagh by just over a second. Victoria-Cleopatra Lazarev made strong progress through the field to claim third.

Race Two mirrored the first, with McNally again leading from start to finish to complete a clean sweep for the day. Abdolrazagh and Lazarev secured second and third respectively for the second time, cementing their positions in the championship fight.

DMAX LIGHTWEIGHTS

Julia Stankowiak made her intentions clear in qualifying, grabbing pole by four tenths of a second from Hope Wood, with McNally a further nine tenths back in third.

Race One saw a tight duel between Stankowiak and Wood, but it was the front runner, Stankowiak who came out on top. Beating Wood by just two tenths to close the championship gap. McNally maintained third throughout, finishing well clear of the rest of the field.

Race Two brought early drama as Wood was forced down the order following contact with McNally, resulting in a three-position penalty for the latter. The fight for second was intense, with McNally making a final lap move on Emma Rabbage to take second on the road. However, her penalty meant she was classified fifth, promoting Rabbage to second and allowing Wood to recover to the podium in third. Stankowiak, meanwhile, remained unfazed and dominated the race by over five seconds to complete a clean sweep.

DMAX INTERS

Frankie Yates was untouchable in the Intermediates, securing pole position and converting it into two commanding race wins. Sarah Gualtieri finished second in both races, as Yates collected maximum points and firmed up her status as the driver to beat in the category.

NEXT ROUND

Round Four – Sunday 11th May – Daytona Sandown Park – Alternate Layout

With new winners emerging and title battles heating up, Round Four promises to be a pivotal one across all classes. Expect fireworks as the Jamie Chadwick Series heads back to the Alternate Layout in May.

SuperChamps - Round Four

Daytona Sandown Park

SuperChamps returned to Sandown Park for Round 4 this weekend, with drivers in both Sodi and DMAX taking on our Heats format on Alternate Circuit. After the dramatic round 3, the drivers returned ready to fight it out.

DMAX Lightweights

Archie Bullard returned to SuperChamps in style, taking the win on the road in Heat One by over two seconds from Charlie Foster. However, a post-race penalty for contact saw the positions reversed, with Foster awarded the victory and Bullard demoted to second. Antonio Sholin finished third, just a second behind Foster.

Heat Two was another tight battle, with Sholin crossing the line first after a close fight with Foster and Bullard. He was initially penalised but successfully appealed to retain his win. Further back, a six-kart scrap for eighth involved Amor Zayana, Max Miller, Jasim Abdulhameed, Erti Sulko, Leandro Scheibler and Harrison Rudge, all of whom finished within 1.5 seconds of each other.

The Final brought high drama as Foster and Bullard renewed their rivalry. Foster made the move for the lead around the halfway point, but Bullard launched a last-corner dive in a desperate attempt to retake the position. The pair drag-raced to the line, with Foster clinging on by just 0.019 seconds to take the win. Sholin completed the podium, holding off George Lawler by a tenth. Foster also took the fastest lap of the race with a 46.012, capping off a superb day.

DMAX Heavyweights

Henry Lopes Gracey was unstoppable in Round Four. Despite a penalty in Heat One, he still topped the Heavyweight category and followed it up with another class win in Heat Two – even mixing it with the front runners in the Lightweights.

In the Final, he completed a clean sweep of all three races, dominating the Heavyweight field and cementing himself as the driver to beat in the class. His consistency and pace across the day mark him as a serious title contender heading into the next round.

SODI Lightweights

George Beauchamp got the day underway with a confident win in Heat One, finishing just ahead of Heavyweight Frederic Navarro. Fin Ions came home second in class, while Jamie Riches made an eye-catching debut in third.

In Heat Two, Solomon Adeniji delivered a dominant performance, pulling out an eight-second lead to take the win. Riches and James Callan rounded out the top three.

Riches then stepped it up another gear in the Final, pulling clear early and cruising to an eight-second victory. Behind him, Ions and Thomas Welsford battled it out for second, with Ions just edging it by four tenths. Welsford did manage to take the fastest lap of the race with a 50.620.

SODI Heavyweights

Navarro put on a masterclass in the Heavyweight class, finishing just a tenth behind Beauchamp overall in Heat One while winning his category by a huge twenty-three seconds. Jason Miller held off Benny Reid for second place in class.

He backed that up in Heat Two with another Heavyweight win and completed the clean sweep in the Final. Not only did he take the win, but he also recorded the fastest lap in the class, making it a perfect day. Miller again finished ahead of Reid for second place in the Final.

Next Round

Round Five – Saturday 4th May – Sandown Park – National Layout – Grand Prix Format

With rivalries intensifying and clean sweeps from both Lopes Gracey and Navarro, all eyes turn to Round Five, where the championship battles are expected to get even fiercer.

SuperChamps - Round Four

Daytona Tamworth

Sunshine bathed Daytona Tamworth for Round Four of the SuperChamps season, setting the tone for a morning of high-quality racing across all four classes. With the championship picture beginning to take shape, every position was starting to matter that bit more.

N35-ST Lightweights

Joseph Smith put in a strong pair of heat drives to secure pole position for the final, but he wasn’t without rivals – Jayden Forrester and Harry Fitch both kept the pressure on throughout, finishing their heats just one point apart.

The final saw Forrester rise to the occasion. Although it looked relatively straightforward on the timing screens, the race was anything but. He was pushed all the way by Fitch, with Theo Laverty also firmly in the mix. Those three would go on to make up the podium, with Laverty continuing his impressive run of form.

There was brief drama mid-race involving Zachary Smith and pole-sitter Joseph Smith. The pair were locked in a tense battle but ultimately lost just enough time to fall away from the lead group and miss out on the podium.

N35-ST Heavyweights

There was heartbreak for heavyweight championship leader Ben Paines, who suffered a mechanical issue in the final that forced him to retire from contention. That opened the door for Anthony French and Saul Gregory to go head-to-head for the win. It was French who came out on top, narrowly holding off Gregory in the closing laps.

Kieran Bryant rounded out the podium with a solid drive, despite being under constant pressure from Lightweight driver Daniel Darlington, who kept Bryant honest all the way to the chequered flag.

DMAX Lightweights

Fresh from his DMAX Nationals campaign, James King took pole for the final after matching Luke Dodman on points in the heats. Joseph Simcock lined up just behind, while Antony Wypych – this month’s featured driver – was the highest-placed Heavyweight in fourth.

The final turned into a three-way thriller between King, Dodman, and Simcock. The two front-runners raced each other hard but fair, opening the door for Simcock to mount a late-race comeback. On lap thirteen, Simcock jumped Dodman for second, and just one lap later, he seized the lead from King with a decisive move to claim an unlikely but well-earned victory.

Dodman and King were left to scrap for second, with Dodman just edging out King to limit the damage in the championship standings.

DMAX Heavyweights

While the Lightweights battled up front, Antony Wypych was in a league of his own in the Heavyweight category. He pulled away steadily from Ashley Mayston-King, cleverly navigating through lapped traffic to extend his advantage and take a convincing win. Greg Chapman completed the podium after a tidy drive.

Next Round

Both championship battles took a thrilling twist in this round of SuperChamps. We return for Round Five on Sunday 4th May, where the season enters its second half and title hopes hang in the balance.
