InKart Round Four

Daytona Sandown Park

Round Four of InKart at Daytona Sandown Park saw drivers take on the Alternate layout for the second consecutive round, returning to the Heats format to shake things up.

Juniors

The Juniors put on a spectacular show, with Adam Telford taking victory in Heat One, just 0.145 seconds ahead of Andrew Thomson, while Felix Sheldon-Hayward secured P3. Daniel Marutyak dominated Heat Two, winning by over two seconds, while Abhay Parmar and Aleksander Kozuch completed the podium.

Heat Three was decided by penalties—Thomson inherited the win after Marutyak received a place drop for an earlier incident, with Tyler Orridge taking third. Sarah Telford claimed Heat Four, narrowly beating Sheldon-Hayward and her brother Adam in a thrilling finish.

The B-Final saw Tara Herm battle Leger Dimitriou, who charged through the field after a DNF in the heats. A red flag on the final lap ended their intense scrap, with Herm taking the win by nine tenths and securing a place in the A-Final.

The A-Final was an all-out fight, but Thomson controlled the race to take victory after 15 minutes of racing. Sheldon-Hayward kept him honest, finishing just 1.8 seconds back, while Parmar held off the Telford siblings to round out the podium.

Cadets

Lily Catignon opened the Cadet racing with a commanding win in Heat One, joined on the podium by Amanze Nwosu and Arno Nurijanyan. Sebastian Mejer took Heat Two, narrowly beating Ted and Max Hayward, who fought fiercely throughout the race.

In Heat Three, Ted Hayward dominated, winning by a staggering ten seconds, while Edward Siberry edged out Catignon for second. Heat Four saw Max Hayward match his brother with a win of his own, joined on the podium by Mejer and Nurijanyan.

The B-Final featured a tight scrap between Hadi Chaudry and Fansen Meng, with Chaudry ultimately winning after a late red flag bunched the field together. Sean Whelan also secured his first podium of the season in third, while Chaudry’s win earned him a place in the A-Final.

The A-Final was dramatic from start to finish. Mejer emerged victorious, fending off Nwosu, while Ted Hayward sealed third place, capping off an impressive day for the Hayward brothers.

Another epic round of InKart at Sandown Park is in the books! Drivers return on April 27th when we switch back to the Grand Prix layout for our Cup format.

Daytona Tamworth

The sun was shining on the morning of InKart, Round Four at Daytona Tamworth. Racing in the Cup format, drivers’ endurance was set to be tested over the course of a gruelling twenty-five-minute race.

Juniors

The B-Final hosted a truly impressive battle between the eventual top four. With the stage set post qualifying, Harry Gariner was expected to take home victory after impressive performances all morning. However, leading a race holds the most hazards and contact was made with another driver Gariner was attempting to lap at the halfway mark of the track. Consequently, race control imposed a three-place penalty, allowing Oscar Mallett to take victory after bravely fending off William Jenkinson and taking the lead with two laps to go. They were joined on the podium by Rory Oldfield-Kelly, who narrowly missed out on second by a tenth of a second.

In the A-Final, another fantastic battle saw the top three separated by just one and a half seconds after twenty-five minutes of high-level racing. One of many hotly contested fights took place at the very top - Jayden Steatham and Alfie Kells were separated by just three-tenths heading into the final lap. Kells was undeterred and held his nerve to take victory. Steatham’s second place was still well-earned, securing an extra point for the fastest lap of the race. While Reuben Potter was unable to stay with the leading pair in the second half, having to settle for third.

Cadets

The first of the two finals in the Cadet class was drama filled, with the leading two drivers both receiving three-place penalties for separate incidents. Locke Evans and Oliver Renshaw had otherwise driven superbly but ultimately had to concede their positions to eventual winner Logan Fredericks. In a superb performance, Logan Thacker secured second place, finishing ahead of Ryan Cafferkey.

Championship leader Freya Lally was unable to reach the heights of the previous round in the A-Final but still achieved a respectable third position. The fight for victory was intense, with fellow Jamie Chadwick Series Junior driver Jessica Kirby and Rocco Jackson battling for the top spot. Jackson ultimately held on to take a stunning victory, with Kirby in second.

The next round of InKart at Daytona Tamworth will take place in three weeks’ time, returning to the Heats format.

Thursday Night League Round Seven

Daytona Sandown Park

SODI

Fin Ions claimed his fifth win of the season in the SODI Lightweights, extending his dominant run in the championship. Ions and Max Andrews quickly carved their way to the front of the field, opening up a gap to the chasing pack in the early laps.

Despite Ions breaking away mid-race, Andrews reeled him back in with a string of rapid laps, including a personal best that brought the pair nose-to-tail on the final lap. Ultimately, Ions held his nerve to take victory by just 0.131 seconds. He also set the fastest lap of the race with a 50.918.

Vivek Balla made a strong return to the podium in third place, benefitting from a post-race penalty handed to Dan Giles, who had initially crossed the line in P3.

Notable mention to Seamus Lane, who continued his run of strong form with a dominant win in the SODI Heavyweights, securing the fastest lap in class. Lane was joined on the podium by Rafael Blanco-Bush and Larry Andrews.

DMAX

Archie Bullard made it two wins on the bounce in the DMAX Lightweights, holding off a late charge from Jack Redfern to take the chequered flag. Redfern had looked out of contention midway through the race but mounted a furious final-lap assault, closing the gap to just three tenths of a second by the flag.

Antonio Sholin crossed the line in third after a strong drive but was handed a post-race penalty that dropped him to P4. That promoted Charlie Foster to the final step of the podium, and he also took the fastest lap of the race with a 46.023 – just 0.034 seconds quicker than Bullard and 0.033 ahead of Redfern in a clear display of how tight the field is this season.

Thomas Mountford took a commanding victory in the DMAX Heavyweights, leading from the front and never looking back. Warren Gomm kept him honest throughout and managed to claim second, as well as the fastest lap in class. Eyston Vaughan-Huxley completed the top three after a consistent drive.

Looking Ahead

Round Seven was another gripping chapter in the 2025 Thursday Night League season, with some serious championship implications across the board. Ions’ win puts him in prime position in the SODI Lightweights standings, while Bullard continues to build serious momentum in the DMAX Lightweights.

We return in two weeks for Round Eight on Thursday, April 17th, where drivers will tackle the Grand Prix layout once again. Expect fireworks.

Daytona Milton Keynes

SODI Lightweight

It was Adam Pughe who topped the timesheets in qualifying, taking pole position by two tenths of a second ahead of Max Michalski. Charlie Csepreghi rounded out the top three, half a second further back.

The final was a thrilling scrap at the front, with Csepreghi wasting no time in attacking from third on the grid. He carved his way past both Michalski and Pughe with some bold but measured overtakes, eventually crossing the line just eight tenths clear of the chasing pack. Pughe and Michalski followed in second and third respectively, but the standout drive came from Alfie O’Brien, who surged through the field from thirteenth to finish fourth, just one second off the lead. He also claimed the fastest lap of the race in the process – an impressive charge.

SODI Heavyweights

Richard Danby took pole position with a tidy lap that edged out Ash Chivers by exactly one tenth of a second, with David Rollins just a few hundredths behind in third – setting up a tight contest for the final.

And a tight contest it was. Chivers and Rollins broke away slightly in the early stages and traded places throughout the race, but it was Chivers who ultimately took the chequered flag by a tenth after a drag race to the line. Rollins had to settle for second while Agastya Lakhar completed the podium with a well-earned third place – his first time standing on the rostrum this season.

DMAX Lightweights

Championship leader Nathan Boyle continued to show his strength in qualifying, taking pole position by just one tenth over Lee Schnitzler, with Tyler Thom a strong third in his first round of the season. Oliver Sargeant slotted into fourth.

Boyle got away well in the race and managed to maintain control at the front, resisting consistent pressure from Schnitzler to take his fourth win of the season. He crossed the line 1.4 seconds ahead, although he was denied a perfect score as Thom picked up the fastest lap on his way to third. The top three pulled clear in what was a cleaner race compared to previous rounds – but behind them, the battle for fourth to seventh saw plenty of wheel-to-wheel action.

With King absent, Boyle now stretches his championship lead going into the next round.

DMAX Heavyweights

David Rollins once again proved his one-lap pace, taking pole position by a full second ahead of Charlie Newman and Paul Studd.

In the final, Rollins initially held his advantage and crossed the line first on the road. However, a post-race penalty demoted him to third place. That handed the victory to Studd, who had kept his nose clean and pace consistent throughout. Newman followed closely behind in second – just two seconds back at the flag. It was a disappointing end for Rollins after what had looked like another dominant display.

Looking Ahead

Round Six – Sunday 21st April – Milton Keynes – National Layout – Grand Prix Format.

With the championship battles heating up across all categories, every point will matter heading into the final stretch of the season.

Daytona Tamworth

A mild evening greeted our drivers for the Seventh Round of Thursday Night League at Daytona Tamworth.  With the clocks finally back, we were expecting a picturesque setting into the sunset for an evening of racing.

N-35 ST

Louis Roberts took pole in the overall and Lightweight classes by just four hundredths ahead of championship hopeful Jude Lilyman.  Heavyweight championship leader Anthony Delaney was on pole position in the Heavyweight class, with Brandon Gathercole not far behind.

Through twenty minutes of racing, Louis Roberts did not have much trouble at all.  He completed the grand slam, with the fastest lap and a lights to flag victory.  His winning margin was eight seconds in total by the end of the race.  Inkart graduate Joseph Smith was in second position, managing to build a decent gap to Heavyweight winner James Estrop behind.  Estrop did most of his battling with Lightweight Kacper Rybacki, in an effort to build a gap to the chasing Heavyweight pack.  The pack in question was made up of Brandon Gathercole and Anthony Delaney.  They were battling throughout the final three laps, but eventually came to blows when Delaney misjudged an overtake, receiving a one place penalty and demoting him behind Gathercole in the finishing order.

DMAX-GT

Nine tenths separated the top five in DMAX qualifying, with Ben Foden making up three of those tenths at the top of the field.  He was joined on the front row by Ky Storor, with Tom Duffy taking Heavyweight pole in third.

Similar to the N-35 race, Foden managed a grand slam of his own.  This time the winning margin was six seconds, with Ky Storor managing a calm drive into second place.  Duffy’s domination continued in this round, consolidating his pole position into his seventh Heavyweight victory of the season.  Surely a championship nearly secured, Duffy will be eyeing up overall victories towards the second half of the season.  He was joined on the podium by Aaron Short and Sonny Zacharias, the latter of which had an intense battle with Luke Mallard in the mid-phase of the race.

Looking Ahead

We return on the 10th April for the Eighth Round of Thursday Night League at Daytona Tamworth.
