Head Go-Kart Mechanic

HOURS: Full Time, Permanent

Daytona Milton Keynes are currently looking to enhance the Engineering Team and require a full-time, flexible Head of Department for our 7-day operational business.

As the Head of the Engineering Department at the busiest kart racing circuit in the UK, you will be responsible for managing the team to ensure they maintain the venue’s kart fleets to Daytona Motorsports very high standards.

A positive attitude, structure and a motivational approach to the team are both key to delivering in this important role. This position will report directly to the GM.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

  • Mechanical experience along with a thorough understanding of engineering principles.
  • Superior knowledge and experience of kart preparation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrable prior experience of working with budgets and forecasting
  • An understanding of statutory requirements with regards to Health and Safety.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, internet & e-mail.
  • Confidence in communicating with suppliers and colleagues across Daytona Group
  • Previous experience from a Supervisory or Management level in order to manage a team.
  • Prior experience/knowledge of Sodikart, Birel, Biz and CRG products an advantage.

Flexibility with working hours is essential to meet company needs. The successful applicant will be required to work flexible hours including some weekend and evening work.

Daytona Milton Keynes are currently looking for our Assistant Head of Engineering for our 7-day operational business.

As the Assistant Head of Engineering, you will be required to assist the Head of Engineering to manage all engineering functions for the department in line with company policy/ guidelines. To oversee the safe and smooth running of the workshop.  To deputise in the absence of the Head of Engineering

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST:

  • Have mechanical experience within the corporate / race kart or motorsport sectors.
  • Be flexible and able to work evenings & weekends in addition to weekdays.
  • Be able to follow instruction quickly and effectively.
  • Be highly motivated and work well in a team.
  • Must have previous mechanical experience along with a thorough understanding of engineering principles.

Go-Kart Track Marshals

HOURS: Full-time / Flexible – MUST be available to work evenings and weekends as well as weekdays.

LOCATION: Daytona Milton Keynes, MK13 8NP

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the race circuit whilst during events
  • Issuing the correct flags to drivers whilst they are racing on circuit.
  • Relaying information carefully and correctly back to the Race Director.
  • Keeping up track appearance and safety in accordance with the company’s safety standard.
  • Ensuring Daytona guests have an enjoyable experience whilst providing excellent customer service throughout.

Skills and Essentials:

Race Directors/Duty Managers

HOURS: Full-time and Part-time – MUST be available to work evenings and weekends in addition to weekdays.

HOURLY RATE: £Competitive plus uncapped sales commission on merchandise.
LOCATION: H4 Dansteed Way, Milton Keynes, MK13 8NP

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Race Direct (manage, monitor and run) race events with the ability to deliver an entertaining and safe experience for our customers.
  • Act as a Duty Manager of the venue whilst managing the Track team, Front of House team and customers in a professional and effective manner whilst on duty.
  • Confidently conduct safety briefings to customers prior to race events.
  • Demonstrate strict but fair race management from Race Control (training will be given).
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure that events are executed at the highest level.
  • Be fully conversant with the company’s computer booking and timing systems.
  • Be fully conversant of the Track Training Manual, NKA (National Karting Association) guidelines and Employee Handbook.
  • Assist with the induction and training of newly appointed Track staff whilst maintaining continued development for the existing team in accordance with the Company and Statute requirements.

SKILLS AND ESSENTIALS

  • Have excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form.
  • Successfully execute the role by setting high standards and lead by example at all times whilst demonstrating the ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills.
