DRIVEN - The Hawkins Story
Jessica Hawkins’ racing story began in a place familiar to many aspiring drivers, Daytona Motorsport. Like countless young racers who first discovered their passion behind the wheel of a kart, Jessica’s early laps at Daytona Sandown Park laid the foundations for a career that would take her to the highest levels of motorsport.
From those formative beginnings, Jessica progressed through the ranks with determination and talent, going on to compete in some of the UK’s most competitive championships, including the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and the British GT Championship. Her career has since continued to break new ground, and she now works with the Aston Martin Formula One Team as Head of the F1 Academy programme, helping to shape and support the next generation of female racing talent.
Recently, Jessica returned to where it all began, revisiting Daytona Sandown Park as part of her new documentary, DRIVEN. The film follows her journey to one of motorsport’s ultimate challenges, Le Mans, while reflecting on the experiences, setbacks, and milestones that have defined her path.
Now available on the ARM YouTube channel, DRIVEN offers a compelling insight into life on and off the track. More than just a racing story, the documentary explores the wider mission behind Jessica’s work: breaking down barriers, challenging perceptions, and creating pathways for under-represented talent in motorsport.
This mission aligns strongly with our own at Daytona Motorsport. Across our venues, from race school and open sessions to our most coveted championships and endurance races, we are committed to making motorsport accessible, inclusive, and inspiring. Providing opportunities for young drivers to take their first steps just as Jessica once did.
Jessica Hawkins’ journey is a powerful reminder that every racing career starts somewhere. Sometimes it starts with a first kart, a first lap, and a spark of ambition, and from there anything is possible.
