19:19 - It's a wrap

We'll be posting a wrap up video on our socials in due course. Here's some snaps to close the day.

Congratulations once again to our champions, and thank you to everybody who take part today.

It's the pinnacle of our community, and the racing we witnessed today was nothing short of breathtaking at times.

19:10 - Scenes

Champagne, confetti and fireworks. Despite the rain, and the 12-hour day, we had a decent turn out at the podium.

Caterham very kindly donated prizes to our winners, and a Caterham drifting experience for a raffle prize, won by Zachary Smith.

He's going to have to give it his parents, though, because he's not old enough. Lucky them!

18:38 - Honourable Mention

Ross Sandwell deserves credit. He started at the back of the grid, after winning the B-final, and finished in fourth. What a comeback.

18:36 - What a finish

Jack O'Neill's done it! He and Andrew McWilliam were scrapping in puddles, smoke coming off the karts as they drive through what is essentially a flood, making move after move on one another.

Jack O'Neill wins the tussle and claims the title!

Champion - Jack O'Neill
Runner-up - Andrew McWilliam
Third place - Ashley Mayston King
Fourth - Ross Sandwell
Fifth - Jayden Lyford

18:34 - Penultimate Lap

It's going to be between Andrew McWilliam and race leader Jack O'Neill, in a game of cat and mouse.

18:31 - Making Experience Count

Jack O'Neill has built a one second gap over Andrew McWilliam, which McWilliam closes to 0.5 seconds.

They're battling, allowing Ashley Mayston-King to get closer to them, with three and a half minutes to go.

18:29 - Ashley's time to shine?

You know who loves wet weather?  Ashley Mayston-King. He's up to third and building momentum.

Jack O'Neill gets back in front of Andrew McWilliam, they're trading blows.

Dom Balasaitis is in fourth, James King fifth.

It's so wet they're at risk of flooding the engines...

Look away, engineers!

18:27 - Round the outside

Andrew McWilliam claims the lead, and Jack O'Neill immediately takes it back, pushing Andrew McWilliam into a puddle.

How is the train getting heavier?!

It's a deluge, we can't see out of the commentary box!

Are you allowed to do fireworks in a storm?

18:24 - Spray in your face

The train of karts tears through puddles, with spray flying into the faces of the drivers.

We're seeing new racing lines carved out in the puddles.

Jack O'Neill remains in the lead after the first lap, with James King behind him.

Andrew McWilliam jumps ahead of Dom Balasaitis into third.

18:21 - Green Flag

Jack O'Neill starts on pole with James King behind him. Last year's champion,  Dom Balasaitis starts in third.

The line up is frightening.

Anybody could win this.

18:20 - Let's do it one last time

Now for the pinnacle. It's time for the  DMAX finalé.

And it's not just raining. It's absolute splatting it down.

Expect the unexpected.

We're about to get underway.

18:15 - It's all over

In the pouring rain, Charlie Csepreghi becomes the first-ever double Champion of  Champions!

He won the Juni0r category two years ago, and now has won the SODI title. What an achievement for the 14-year-old driver.

Final results:

Champion - Charlie Csepreghi
Runner-up - Adam Pughe
Third Place - Freddie Jenkins
Fourth - David Metcalfe
Fifth - Tom Justice

18:13 - Closing the gap

Adam Pughe is driving like a madman to try and close the gap - it's not at 1.2 seconds but there's only one lap remaining.

Fions Ions has dropped off, Tom Justice and David Metcalfe have passed him.

18:09 - Csepreghi's running away

Charlie Csepreghi is getting faster and is now racing alone.

Second placed Adam Pughe has Freddie Jenkins to contend with, and Fin Ions behind him.

18:07 - Pughe's upping his game

Pughe just threw down the fastest lap of the race and overtakes Jenkins into second place.

Charlie Csepreghi has built a two second lead, welcoming the battles behind him.

18:05 - It's pouring

The rain lashes down, adding to the drama of the final.

Ash Chivers, who loves these conditions, is down in ninth.

Charlie Csepreghi is back in the lead with seven minutes to go. He's built a one-second lead.

18:04 - A dark horse from Sandown Park

Fin Ions has been incredible today. He's up in fourth, after passing Strike's teammate David Metcalfe.

He'll need to pass Adam Pughe ahead of him if he's to get into a podium position.

Charlie Csepreghi is in P2, gaining on Freddie Jenkins.

The rain is falling.

18:01 - SODI A Final opening lap

Charlie Csepreghi gets us underway, as the rain starts to fall.

Andrew Strike and Charlie Fenton, two previous champions, are caught up in an incident and drop back. Strike's been unlucky today.

Freddie Jenkins works his way into P1.

17:59 - Jubilation

The two champions enter the pitlane as heroes, with smoke cannons blasting, and are interviewed by our host.

Beautiful moment.

It's time now, to turn our attention to the SODI final.

17:56 - Final positions

Cadets:

Champion - Gillen Townshend
Runner-up - Teddy Mullan
Third place - Leo Sibthorpe
Fourth - Freya Lally
Fifth - Charlie Marden

Juniors:

Champion - Jacob Kent
Runner-up - Zachary Smith
Third place - Jacob Noble
Fourth - Nathaniel Garai
Fifth - Daniel Marutyak

17:54 - Race finish

Arel Kesimgil was in third place but spins on the last lap. That's going to cost him a trophy.

Zacahary Smith needs to make a move on Jacob Kent. Kent's blocking him.

Kent's won it!

17:53 - Last minute

Gillen Townshend, your 2025 Cadet champion of champions. Probably a bit premature, but nobody is going to catch him.

Can Zachary Smith pass Jacob Kent? There might be last minute drama here.

17:50 - Four minutes to go

Gillen's going to win this, surely.  He's got a three second lead.

It's not as clear cut in the Juniors at all. Jacob Kent currently leads Zachary Smith by 0.8 seconds.

17:47 - Townshend carves out distance

Gillen just recorded the fastest lap of the race, and has built a two second lead over Teddy Mullan.

Leo Sibthorpe is up to third, ahead of Freya Lally, who's battling Charlie Marden.

Alicia Waterhouse is in and amongst them, after starting the race from the back.

Meanwhile, Arel Kesimgil is getting faster. Zachary Smith is gaining on first-placed Jacob Kent. He's under pressure!

17:45 - Teddy's on the charge

Teddy Mullan has jumped in front of Freya Lally and finds himself in second place, a full second behind Gillen Townshend.

Jacob Kent is less than a second ahead of Zachary Smith in the Juniors. Nathaniel Garai is charging up the pack, he's now in sixth after recording the fastest lap of the race so far. He won the B-final earlier, remember.

17:43 - Early advantages

Jacob Kent takes an early lead in the Juniors.

Meanwhile, Gillen Townshend leads the pack in the Cadets.

17:40 - Let's go!

We're going to be crowning our first two champions in less than twenty minutes.

Jacob Kent starts the Junior final on pole, with the impressive Zachary Smith behind him. Arel Kesimgil begins the final in P3.

The undefeated Freya Lally keads the Cadet line, with local multiple-champion Gillen Townshend behind her, and Charlie Marden in third.

Twelve minutes of final-finals is about to commence.

17:37 - Huge win for Sandwell

Daniel Varlan hits himself in the helmet in frustration, as Ross Sandwell claims victory. He's heading to the big one.

It's A-final time, baby!

17:35 - He's done it

Sandwell's reactions prove vital - he anticipates the yellow turning green before Varlan does, and pounces to take the lead.

Last lap!

17:33 - Red Flag

Someone's jumped out of their kart! What on earth? At Race of Champions?!

The race comes to a halt. The clock won't stop though.

Advantage Daniel Varlan, who's 0.4 seconds ahead of Ross Sandwell. He needed that.

We're back underway under full course yellows.

There's going to be an epic finish here. A minute and a half remaining.

17:30 - Sandwell on the charge

Ross Sandwell is now only 0.7 seconds behind Varlan, recording faster lap times every lap that passes.

We've still got over five minutes to go. I think he's going to do it.

Callum Bendelow is chasing down third-placed Julia Stankowiak.

17:28 - Varlan continues to lead

Daniel Varlan has carved out a 1.5 second lead.

Ross Sandwell is getting faster, though, quickly closing the gap, as he pulls away from third-placed Julia Stankowiak.

17:25 - Drama!

Second-placed Nathan Boyle's kart fails. His engines cut out! No way.

He's dropped right down. Ross Sandwell is now in P2.

It was Lucas Gathercole involved in the incident earlier, and finds himself right at the back.

17:25 - Early contact

A driver gets sent into the tyre barrier on the first lap

Julia attempts a move on Daniel Varlan, but he survives.

Nathan Boyle then gets in front of Julia.

Jude Lillyman's up to fourth.

17:22 - DMAX B-Final

Daniel Varlan and Julia Stankowiak are leading the line in the B-final, two absolute weapons on this track. Them missing out on the A-final demonstrates the calibre of the competitors today.

Jayden Giles will start in third place, ahead of Nathan Boyle.

Twelve minutes on the clock. Only one person will be promoted to the DMAX final.

Let's go!

17:20 - Off, Off and away

Barker's won this by some distance - nearly seven seconds.

Lewis Bowey isn't going to go down without a fight, he attempts a double overtake, and achieves one of them, to take third place over James Holliday.

Solomon Adeniji puts on a solid performance to finish in second.

17:17 - Two minutes to go

Barker's in cruise control, he's now 3.2 seconds ahead of Adeniji, who's defending hard against Holliday. He's going to win this.

17:14 - Sheer Pace wins races

Brandon Barker is flying. He's at the front of the field, setting fastest lap after fastest lap.

He's the only driver to crack 1:14, and he's done it twice. He's built a 1.8 second lead over Solomon Adeniji, who's being tailed by James Holliday.

17:10 - Barker takes P1

Tamworth SuperChamps winner Brandon Barker is leading the pack now, he passed Solomon Adeniji and Lewis Bowey.

James Holliday is right behind Bowey.

17:08 - Early drama

Lewis Bowey tries to pass Solomon Adeniji, but great defending from Adeniji prevents the move.

Brandon Barker captilises on the squabbling, and finds himself in third.

17:05 - SODI B-Final time

Some big names in this final. Lewis Bowey, local SuperChamps champion, Brandon and Rhys Barker, Tamworth hot-shots, Scott Clenaghan, multiple 24 hours winner.

And of course, Chloe McNally, who starts in P21.

17:01 - What a finish!

Alicia Waterhouse takes the Cadet lead!

Jack Dowding and Ethan Davis make contact with one another and Alicia capitalises. Wow!

Nathaniel Garai wins the Juniors, ahead of Alfie Kells, with Tilly Watson in third.

Alicia's won it! She's heading to the A-final.

Brilliant finish.

16:59 - Last Lap

Is Alfie Kells going to make his move on Nathaniel Garai?

Will Jack Dowding catch Ethan Davis?

16:57 - Dowding vs Davis

Ethan Davis makes a bold manouevre on Jack Dowding, and gains the lead with two minutes to go.

Meanwhile, Alfie Kells is gaining on Nathaniel Garai.

Tilly Watson is gaining on third-placed Reuben Crudington.

16:55 - Garai gains ground

With just over five minutes remaining, Nathaniel Garai has carved out a one second lead over Alfie Kells.

Alfie's just recorded a 1:17.4 fastest lap and is gaining on Garai, narrowing the lead down to 0.5 seconds.

Heartbreak for Frank Mehlberg as he makes contact and falls out of the Cadet race.

16:52 - Garai in the lead

Nathaniel Garai has passed Reuben Crudington and leads the Juniors. Reuben Potter is growing into this race too.

Jack Dowding is just about holding onto his lead, as  Thomas Volante just recorded the fastest lap.

16:50 - Nathaniel's on smoke

Nathaniel Garai comes steaming through the pack in the Juniors, and is 0.2 seconds off Crudington in the lead.

Alfie Kells is chasing too.

In the Cadets, Jack Dowding is being hunted by Ethan Davis and Thomas Volante.

16:47 - Time for the Cadet/Junior B-Final

The Cadets and Juniors will be sharing the track once more.

Jack Dowding leads the Cadets ahead of Alicia Waterhouse, and Reuben Crudington leads Alfie Kells.

16:44 - KTF Racer's done it

That was awesome. 16-year-old Kai Ferner has passed JJ Aiston to take the win dramatically.

He's heading to the B-Final.

That was some battle. He'll be buzzing with that.

16:42 - Kai passes Aiston

Kai Ferner makes a move on JJ Aiston and is in second.

Will Tyson is winning, but a five second penalty will bring him down to fifth.

His only shot of winning is if his chasers come to blows.

16:41 - Too close to call

JJ Aiston is less than a second ahead of Kai Ferner, and Liam Bidgood is chasing them down.

16:37 - Five way battle

JJ Aiston takes second and is all over first-placed Will Tyson, and Kai Ferner is right up there too.

Liam Bidgood in fourth and Toby Mawdsley could also win this.

16:36 - Classy moves

Alfie Shrubb shoots up the pack after a clever move and Jon Buck jumps ahead of Adam Palmer.

Kai Ferner is chasing down Will Tyson and attempts a couple of moves, to no avail.

16:34 - Ferner's burners

Kai Ferner makes a great move on JJ Aiston to claim second (which is basically first, because Will Tyson has a five second penalty)

16:33 - Let's try again, shall we?

We're back underway. That race start looked much cleaner.

16:28 - No rest for the wicked

The DMAX C-Final gets underway immediately and the drivers roll towards the start.

Will Tyson leads the way, ahead of Algorithmic Ascendancy's JJ Aiston.

Oh no. It's happened again. Will Tyson jumps the race start and will receive a five-second penalty.

That also shortens the race.

16:26 - Big result for Chloe McNally

There was a huge Jamie Chadwick Series flavour to this race, with Chloe finishing one second ahead of Ella Wroe.

George Beauchamp finished in third, ahead of Zoe Cattet. Reyhaneh was competitive for a lot of the race but ends up in seventh.

Chloe McNally is heading to the B-Final!

Peter Tilev receives a penalty for taking out Milena Clark.

16:24 - Last lap

Chloe McNally is close to winning this. The race is shorter after the false start.

Ella Wroe is chasing her down but to no avail.

Full course yellows have dampened the affair,

16:23 - Momentum with Zoe

Now Zoe Cattet finds herself in fourth place, as she grows into this race. She's right behind George Beauchamp.

16:21 - Ella's on the charge

Ella Wroe just recorded the fastest lap of the race - 1:16.5 and claims third place.

A few places behind her, Zoe Cattet is climbing the grid and finds herself in sixth chasing down George Beauchamp.

16:20 - George Beauchamp gains momentum

George Beauchamp is chasing Chloe McNally down.

McNally completes a switchback overtake on Reyhaneh, who quickly reclaims the lead. These two are teammates going head-to-head today.

Rory Oldfield-Kelly moves up to third, with Ella Wroe pressuring him.

16:18 - Back underway

The race is roaring. Chloe McNally makes a great start and pushes up to second place.

There's a spinner in the middle of the pack after contact.

16:15 - Mid point review

Here's a recap of all the action so far.

16:10 - False start

Full yellows are illuminated and we have to start the race again.

Reyhaneh will be gutted, she has to serve a five-second time penalty for jumping the start. She was too keen, that'll blow her chances of the B-final before the race has even begun.

16:08 - Precipitation

As promised, we have a little bit of drizzle now. That'll make it interesting.

Some big names in the C-Final - Zoe Cattet herself finds herself half way up the grid - she won every round of the JCS. Milena Clark, Clara Norris, Ella Wroe and Reyhaneh and Megan Ering were all mega competitive too.

Chloe McNally was another JCS champion and finds herself in this final. Lots of talented SuperChamps drivers that will fancy this.

16:05 - We're back

Now for the first of our 12-minute finals, we're starting off with the SODI C-final. Reyhaneh Abdolrazagh is on pole, alongside Rory Oldfield-Kelly.

A reminder, if you win here, you win yourself a fighting chance - you join the back of the B-final.

You'd then have to crawl through the pack of 20 there and win that to join the back of the A-final. Mission impossible?

It's certainly nice to get extra track time, though.

15:30 - Today's action

Some more snaps from today whilst we calculate final grids.

15:19 - Interview with Freya Lally

Freya Lally has been a standout performer so far today, winning all three of her heats. John caught up with her a moment ago.

15:01 - Heats = complete

That was intense. Andrew McWilliam lead from start to finish, James King finished second, ahead of Dawid Sniezko.

Charlie Csepreghi finished six seconds ahead of James Callan and Solomon Adeniji finished third.

Now we have eight finals to get through. There's a short lunch break whilst our team crunch the numbers.

Stay tuned to find out which final you're in...

14:59 - King takes second

Great racing from that man, James King. He's made a move on Dawid Sniezko to take second, but he won't catch Andrew McWilliam.

Charlie Csepreghi wins comfortably in the SODIs.

14:56 - Side stories

James King and Jack O'Neill are getting to know one another today.

King has worked his way up and is now in third from tenth. O'Neill is 0.7 seconds behind King, having started in front of him.

Solomon Adeniji has been electric in this heat, and finds himself third place in the SODI race, narrowly ahead of Frederic Navarro.

Fin Ions has also been impressive today and is currently in sixth - although, hang on - it sounds like he's just received a five-second penalty...

14:54 - When's it going to rain?

Miraculously, it's been dry all day so far. Accuweather said it's  going to rain at 15:00, but no sign of it as yet.

Our finals will kick off around 15:30, so a change in conditions might mix it up.

14:51 - McWilliam pulls away

He was a competitor we highlighted in yesterday's preview, and he's had a solid day so far, Andrew McWilliam, carving out a two-second lead over Dawid Sniezko (sorry for spelling your name wrong on the Instagram graphic, Dazid).

Likewise, Charlie Csepreghi, is pulling away in the SODIs, two seconds a head of James Callan.

14:43 - It's all over

Rayaan Malik won that race by 0.01 seconds. Daniel Marutyak was pipped at the post, with Arel Kesimgil in third.

Freya Lally made it three wins out of three, beating Charlie Marden over the line - the duo were battling all race long and will do the same in the A-final. Arel Kesingil finished in third, which should be a good enough result for him.

Special mention to Tilly Watson, who recorded the fastest lap of the race.

14:42 - Malik takes the lead

Rayaan Malik has taken the lead, he's a hot favourite at  this circuit. We're onto the last lap. Will Daniel Marutyak respond?

14:38 - Marutyak dominance

Daniel Marutyak is being chased down by Rayaan Malik and they exchange places. Marutyak won the second heat and is heading into the A-final.

Freya Lally has taken the lead but is fighting tooth-and-nail with Charlie Marden.

14:36 - Lally glaze

Freya Lally has won both heats so far, and she's closing in on a third win. She's been unstoppable and is going to start the A-final at the front, in contention to be our first-ever female champion of champions.

14:33 - Early leaders

Charlie Marden is having a great day, he's currently in the lead in the Cadets. Freya Lally, another rising star, has just taken second place from Hadi Chaudry and how chases down Marden.

Daytona Sandown Park's Daniel Marutyak has a narrow lead in the Juniors over Rayaan Malik.

14:32 - Just some champs, having a good time

14:26 - Time to take a breather

It's intense out there.

Here's a little something from our media team to help everybody calm down a little bit.

14:25 - Final lap

Joseph Simcock takes the win, Andy O'Neill second and Dom Balasaitis third.

Charlie Fenton absolutely cruises to victory in the SODIs. That should be enough for the one-time winner to make it into this evening's A-final.

Adam Pughe finished in second, Owen Tolley third. Brandon Barker finished in fourth.

Despite an early setback, reigning champion Andrew Strike finished ninth - he was dead last at one stage.

14:20 - DMAX mixing up with SODIs

Just over a minute left and there's battles all over the field.

Dom Balasaits has narrowed the gap to 0.8 seconds behind second-placed Andy O'Neill. He'll have to make a move soon, but there's dozens of SODIs in the way,

Leger Dimitrou just recorded the fastest SODI lap and finds himself fourth.

14:18 - Simcock makes his move

Joseph Simcock passes Andy O'Neill and the duo are embroiled in a race-long battle.

Dom Balasaitis is licking his lips, gaining on the leaders every corner. Luke Dodman is all over him, though.

In the SODIs, Owen Tolley finds himself in third after just recording the fastest lap.

Andrew Strike has recovered up to fourteenth, overtaking Zoe Cattet.

14:15 - Early leaders

Titan Motorsport veteran Andy O'Neill is in control in this race, but Joseph Simock is piling on the pressure.

Luke Dodman is in third, with reigning champ Dom Balasaitis plotting a move behind him.

In the SODIs, Charlie Fenton is in the lead by four seconds. Adam Pughe is chasing him, ahead of Carlos Roberts.

Trevor Hansford receives a black flag, ending his race.

14:14 - Oh no

I've just remembered - it's these guys again...

Andrew Strike gets involved in an incident and ends up dead last. He's going to need to bring his A-game now.

14:12 - Adult Group Two, Final Heat

WPR's Joseph Simcock leads the DMAX pack, and Sam Barnaville sits on the SODI pole.

14:07 - Brilliant heat

That was peak Race of Champions.

Comfortable wins for Gillen Townshend and Zachary Smith, but there was a dogfight between them for second in both classes.

Leo Sibthorpe held off Teddy Mullan to finish second in the Cadets, and Jacob Kent beat Daniel Harman to finish second in the Juniors, with Alfie Kells milliseconds behind in fourth.

14:06 - Last lap

Alfie Kells is up in third, chasing down Jacob Kent.

In the Cadets, Teddy Mullan is just behind second-placed Leo Sibthorpe.

14:04 - Chopping and changing

Zachary Smith will win this race, but there's a thrilling battle between Jacob Kent, Daniel Harman, Alfie Kells, Jacob Noble and Jack Candasamy for second. The Junior race is going to be decided by fine margins.

14:02 - Sibthorpe takes second

In the Cadets, Leo Sibthorpe takes Ryan Cafferkey and claims the valuable second place sport. Teddy Mullan is now in third, Cafferkey fourth.

In the Juniors, Jack Candasamy takes third, and is side-by-side with second-placed with Jacob Kent.

Alfie Kells takes fourth.

14:00 - Penalty?

Reuben Crudington and Jacob Kent make contact, with the former dropping down to sixth and Kent ascending into fourth. The race directors will review that one, for sure.

13:57 - Early on in the heat

Daniel Harman has a strong first lap to stay in the lead, but he has Zachary Smith behind him.

Smith makes his move and takes the lead, and then extends it. Jack Candsamy just earned the fastest lap so far, chasing down Harman.

Cadet Gillen Townshend builds a 1.7 second lead over Ryan Cafferkey, with Leo Sibthorpe in third.

13:55 - Cadet/ Junior Group One Heat Three

Gillen Townshend, already with one foot in A-final, will lead the way in the Cadets. Sandown Park's Daniel Harman is on pole for the Juniors.

13:50 - Final Lap

Will Antony Wypych take Jayden Lyford? No - Lyford does enough. Freddie Burden finishes third, ahead of Jayden Giles, and Adam Hawtin in fifth. Luke Power finished in sixth - he might have done enough to make the A-final.

Tom Justice does enough to maintain his victory over Scott Cleneghan, crossing the line. A very mature drive from the young man, who will certainly qualify for the A-finals after his performances today.

He won the Junior category last year, remember. He's one to watch this evening.

13:49 - Beam me up Scotty

Scott Clenghan is now 0.4 seconds behind Tom Justice. He'll make his move soon...

13:48 - Ascendancy for Burden

Freddie Burden has been electric today and if it stays as it is, he's probably done enough to secure his space in the A-final. He's currently sat in third, being hunted by Zach Llewellyn-Morris.

Wypych briefly takes the lead and instantly loses it.

13:45 - Lyford vs Wypych

Antony Wypych just threw down the fastest lap of the race as he chases down race leader Jayden Lyford, he's closing the gap!

It's a similar story with Scott Clenghan, he's reducing Tom Justice's lead.

13:43 - What's happening Bazza?

Barry Morris finds himself all the way down in nineteenth. He's had an excellent day so far, but if he doesn't improve it could cost him a place in the A-final.

13:41 - Close

Zach Llewellyn-Morris has a wobble and nearly comes off the track, but recovers. He's in third in the DMAX, ahead of Zach Hassan and Freddie Burden, but it's tight.

In the SODIs, Tom Justice has carved out a two-second lead. Dylan Morrall is battling with Ryan Bentley for third.

13:39 - Back underway

Group One's final heat has the cleanest race start yet - with nobody spinning out on the first lap or getting in each other's way.

Jayden Lyford takes an early lead in the DMAX, with Antony Wypych chasing him down.

In the SODIs, Tom Justice steals the lead, with Scott Cleneghan chasing him down.

13:35 - Masters League

Whilst we have a short break from racing, it's an apt time to remind everybody that Daytona's Masters League commences in March.

It's a Tuesday night championship aimed at older drivers, with heavier weight allowances.

It's a safe space to race without having the Csepreghi twins lapping you.

13:31 - Heartbreak for Lillyman

Tamworth's Jude Lillyman is disqualified from the previous heat for being underweight. He'll score zero.

Ouch.

13:30 - Group One, Final Heat

We are about to commence our final rotation of heats.

Adam Palmer starts at the front. He'll need a big performance to make the A-final. In the SODIs, Dylan Morrall leads the pack.

In the SODIs, Charlie Csepreghi is in his own orbit, winning by thirteen seconds. Ash Chivers finishes second, with Sandown Park's Fin Ions in third.

Great result for Ash Chivers, that, he started dead last. Fin ions climbed from seventeenth position too.

13:24 - Hansford in third

Great work from Jay Hansford to take third, but Andrew McWilliam is right by his side.

Chequered flag is imminent.

13:22 - Final Lap

Sam Jewell loses control and drops down the pack. He was leading the race  earlier.

Jack O'Neill is less than a second ahead of James King, working through SODI traffic. When will King make his move?

McWilliam's in third.

McKenzie Senior gets involved in an incident and drops down the pack.

13:20 - Contact

Samuel Spencer gets himself involved in an incident with Julia Stankowiak, and then send Dawid Sniezko into the tyre barriers.

Andrew McWilliam ascends to fourth place.

Meanwhile, in the SODIs, Amelia Charlesworth has climbed up to second place. Third placed Harrison Fisher is being chased down by Ash Chivers.

13:18 - Shake up

Jack O'Neill passes Julia Stankowiak to lead the race, who has James King breathing down her neck.

King passes Stankowiak and has his sights set on O'Neill.

Sam Jewell drops to third.

13:17 - Here comes King

James King makes a couple of overtakes and just records the fastest lap of the race as he climbs up to seventh in the standings, hunting down Andrew McWilliam.

At the summit of the race, Jack O'Neill is chasing down second-placed Julia Stankowiak.

13:14 - Green light

In Group Three's second heat, Sam Jewell takes an early lead.

Charlie Csepreghi overtakes Harrison Fisher and takes P1 in the SODIs.

13:08 - Trackside drama

Freya Lally's on fire. She waited until the last lap to pass Charlie Marden to win the heat. Impressive stuff from Lally today. Jack Dowding finishes third in the Cadets.

Daniel Marutyak won in the Juniors, despite a resurgance from Arel Kesimgil. Rayaan Malik made a move on Megan Gascoyne in the last lap to finish in third.

12:55 - Back to the action

Anyway, enough about that silly old bumper-kart heat.

We're watching Charlie Marden hold off Freya Lally, who's been chasing him all race. The duo are miles ahead of third-placed Thomas Volante.

In the Juniors, Daniel Marutyak is in control. Arel Kesimgil is comfortably in second place.

12:53 - Penalties from the previous heat

We told you our race directors were busy. Penalties have been awarded post-race to:

Alfie Shrubb (bumper-to-bumper)

Ross Sandwell (bumper-to-bumper)
Callum Bendalow (hitting a cone)
Lucas Gathercole (takeout)
Peter Tilev (advantage by contact)
Alfie Shrubb (weaving under yellows)

12:44 - Phew

That was the craziest one yet.

Dom Balasaitis wins comfortably ahead of Ashley Mayston-King and Daniel Varlan in the DMAX.

Adam Pughe was caught up in an incident in the SODIs, but wins it by five seconds, with Chris Huxtable in second. Andrew Strike also span out, but manages to finish in third.

Heats racing at its best (or worst, depending on how you view it).

The commentators are asking Race Control about penalties - several incidents under investigation.

12:42 - What's going on

Joseph Simcock spins, and Trevor Hansford gets caught up in an incident.

DMAX and SODIs are completely mixed up and it's hard to keep up with the incidents.

Our Race Directors are going to have a mare adjudicating this one.

12:41 - Huxtable vs Pughe

Adam Pughe was one of the drivers embroiled in an incident earlier, but finds himself less than a second behind Chris Huxtable.

He makes a move and takes him to lead the heat!

12:38 - Even more chaos

This heat has been the messiest one yet. Two more drivers find themselves off the circuit.

And another one! Is that Andrew Strike?

Dom Balasaitis takes full advantage and finds himself nearly nine seconds clear. Ashley Mayston-King works his way into second, passing Trevor Hansford.

The leading DMAX drivers are mixed up with the back of the SODI grid.

12:35 - More chaos

It's carnage out there. The commentators have lost track of what's going on. Several people are involved in separate incidents, with yellows all over the shop.

12:33 - Chaotic opening

Kai Ferner finds himself on the grass and nearly takes out half the grid Alfie Shrubb spins.

In the SODIs Charlie Fenton finds himself in an incident. And there's more...

Dom Balasaitis takes advantage and claims the DMAX lead, and Chris Huxtable in the SODIs.

Jacob Kent wins and Zachary Smith takes second position. A great recovery from him after an earlier wobble. Jacob Noble finishes in third, just behind him.

Gillen Townshend has one foot in the A-final as he wins the Cadet heat ahead of Leo Sibthorpe.

12:26 - He's done it!

Gillen's made his move and takes the lead in the Cadets. Leo Sibthorpe is now chasing Townshend down.

12:25 - Last lap

Gillen Townshend just threw down his fastest lap, as he chases down his InKart rival Leo Sibthorpe

12:22 - Resurgent Zac

Zachary Smith just threw down the fastest lap of the race and overtakes Reuben Crudington to take third. He's now got his sights set on Jacob Noble ahead of him.

Gillen Townshend has closed the gap and now finds  himself a second behind Leo Sibthorpe, with two minutes left.

Teddy Mullan is chasing down Ryan Cafferkey.

12:19 - Aftermath

After all those shenanigans, Jacob Kent builds a four-second lead at the front of the pack, leaving Jacob Noble to battle with Reuben Crudington. Zachary Smith is still in the chase, a second behind in fourth.

Meanwhile, Leo Sibthorpe has built a five second lead over Gillen Townshend. Frank Mehlberg is in third.

12:17 - Zachary Smith holds his nerve

Smith, leading the way, went too deep at turn nine and finds himself on the grass.

He manages to recover and join the grid in third, but then Jack Candasmy dives up the inside and makes contact with Jacob Noble and Zachary Smith.

Carnage.

Barry Morris manages to hold off Lewis Bowey to win, with Rhys Barker in third place.

12:09 - Penalty for Giles

We've just learned that Jayden Giles received a penalty for being bumper-to-bumper for race start.

Ella Wroe and Adam Palmer also received penalties.

Lewis Bowey is closing the gap to Barry Morris, ahead of him.

12:06 - Justice spins out

Tom Justice loses his back end and loses a few positions to find himself in eighth.

Meanwhile,  Anthony Wypych and Jacob Csepreghi are side-by-side for second and Jayden Lyford charges into fourth.

12:05 - Pocket Rocket

Jacob Csepreghi has charged his way through the pack and is challenging Antony Wypych for second place. Adam Hawtin extends his lead.

Meanwhile, Barry Morris is using all his experience to gain on Lewis Bowey, despite Bowey just recoring the fastest lap of the race so far.

12:00 - Another Heat Underway

Our fourth adult heat of the day, our second for group two, is taking place.

Adam Hawtin took the lead early on, Toby Mawdesley had a half-spin and then got tipped into a spin from behind and loses his back end.  Zach Llewellyn-Morris also spins.

Antony Wypych goes from eleventh position to second on the first lap with all the chaos ahead of him.

Barry Morris builds a three second lead over Lewis Bowey in the SODIs, and Rhys Barker climbs to third.

11:58 - Breaking news

We have our first shout out.

Dom Fleming makes an excellent move on Ash Chivers to win it right at the end in the SODIs.

Chivers isn't happy. Appeal incoming...

11:44 - Stankowiak's on a mission

She started in fifteenth position, and has worked her way up into sixth. Julia's one to watch today.

Ash Chivers has a second lead over Dominic Fleming.

11:43 - And another one...

O'Neill still leads the way, under pressure from King with two laps to go. Andrew McWilliam has climbed into third.

11:11 - Owen collides with banana skin

Owen Tolley was  fourth, but spins out and finds himself eighth in the SODIs.

Ashley Mayston-King has caught up with the back of the SODI grid and has two minutes left to navigate his way through traffic. That might allow Lucas Gathercole behind him to make up some ground.

11:09 - He's starting to purr

Reigning SODI champion Andrew Strike takes the lead, with Leger Dimitriou in second place. Pole sitter Lewis Francis drops down to third.

Plenty of gyrating and cursing from the drivers in this very aggressive heat.

Ashley Mayston-King builds a healthy lead at the front of the DMAX grid.

Third and fourth placed Trevor Hansford and Andy O'Neill both spin out - and bizarrely O'Neill manages to overtake Hansford whist spinning.

9:00 - Finding that racing line

Nice and sunny this morning as our competitors measure the field.

8:55 - History Makers?

Will Dom Balasaitis, Andrew Strike, Charlie Csepreghi or Charlie Fenton become the first drivers in our history to win this event twice?

They're all going to be up there come the end of the day, barring a disaster.

8:20 - Bells & Whistles

The venue looks immaculate and the atmosphere is building here at Daytona Milton Keynes.

Drivers walk past large Race of Champions flags along the red carpet, with propulsive music playing and get their headshot by the Race of Champions backdrop.

Proper day of finals, this.

8:00 - Special guests

The team for Caterham are here today to talk about their wonderful world.

They'll also be providing prizes for our four winners today.

Oh, and a drift experience raffle prize - that's worth winning!

7:30 - Following from home?

We'll be publishing live updates, grid tables, graphics and general banter here all day.

There will also be video updates on our Instagram/ Facebook as it happens.

Or you could just jump on the M1 and come and watch the action live.

We have cocoa and there'll be fireworks?

7:25 - Early speculation

We published a race preview yesterday on our website,  sizing up some of the competition.

You can read that here.

7:15 - Order of the day

Guests will be making a red-carpet arrival from 8:00am, before getting their first look at today’s battleground with a track walk.

The first practice session begins at 9:10am and from there, it’s pretty much back-to-back racing all day.

The adult categories (SODI and DMAX) are split into three groups for the morning, while Cadets and Juniors are split into two. SODI and DMAX will share the track for practice and heats, as will Cadets and Juniors.

After practice, each driver will contest three heats, scoring points that determine their final starting position later on.

Finals are where it gets spicy. The adults will have three finals (C, then B, then A), while Cadets and Juniors will have two. SODI and DMAX race separately in the finals, but Cadets and Juniors will still share the track.

And there’s a twist: win the C Final and you’re promoted to the back of the B Final grid. Win the B Final and you’re promoted to the back of the A Final grid.

You got all that?

7:00 - Good morning, Daytona community!

Today is the day. Months of racing, graft, and championship battles all come down to this: the 2025 Daytona Race of Champions at our flagship circuit, Daytona Milton Keynes.

Nearly 150 of our most successful drivers from across the Daytona family are on the way - champions, endurance winners, and proven big-race performers - all chasing the biggest solo accolade in our calendar.

Practice kicks things off later this morning… and from there, it’s flat-out. Four categories. One trophy per class.

Strap in. This is going to be a big one.
